as most of you know now, the final public release pf Messenger Plus! 2.20 will be out in about 24 hours. Most of you who are reading this thread already tried the new version, its new features, so you didn't expect anything more except for extra languages and bug fixes. Well, you were wrong!

Even if some of you understand that the sponsor is here so that I can live my life, it still doesn't bring you anything but ads. Next sunday, that won't be the case anymore: I'm organizing a contest to redistribute some of the money the sponsor is giving to me. From now on, when you install Plus! you will get a chance to win this prize package:

Just to make it clear: when you redistribute Plus! to your friends they have to enter your msn email when they participae so that you can gain your extra chances. Of course this is done to avoid anykind of software that could be related to a "spy" .

As for the game you'll choose, if you have good taste and choose Zelda, you'll win something more. And, for the color, if you want the silver edition, you'll get it: any color IS any color

Arg, I have a problem.  The address I use for Messenger no longer exists (No spam that way ).  If I was to submit that email, how would I know if I actually did win the GameCube?   Can we submit an alternative contact email or something?

I don't think you have to submit your .NET Passport, just submit any Email that you have working, and tell your contacts to vote for that particular Email address.

Well, Patchou wants you to enter your .NET passport e-mail. I don't know whether you will be contacted via e-mail or Messenger if you win.

Huh? After you install it, if you want to participate in the contest, you will have to enter the same e-mail he used to register in the "referred by" field so that he gets a chance and you another.

Person B will have to participae to enter Person A email. As I said, this limitation is due to the fact that there is too many paranoid people on the net so I'm not going to start to transmit your email automatically by any mean to automate this procedure.

when you DL the latest version of plus, you click the banner on the page that coms up when u finnish the install

thedatabase is not reset but your participation counts for only one draw.... to get other chances to win, your only sollution is to refer friends

when is the winner supposed to be drawn?

within 2 weeks, but I don't know anymore when the game began... I think only 1/1.5 week or so...

First draw will be in in about ten days (sunday). I wont start to tell eveyone their database ID .

After you install Plus!, you arrive on a page with a big banner that says "WIN A GAMECUBE"... I don't see what more I could do.... maybe I'll open a popup with the contest, however, the popup could be automatically hidden by "ad removal" programs or the user himself could close it before even read whats inside (thats what I do myself everytime anything popups in IE).

There's no perfect sollution.. jsut tell your friend to click on the big GameCube banner

An idea on the fairness issue would be that Patchou chooses different time slots in his day, meaning it will be different around the world. I am sure Patchou has been up as late at 7am, and got up as early as 8am (not the next day obviously)...

Just a thought..

mm... patchou's sleeping habits don't seem to conform to any logic... when fraisie's online patchou is almost invariably sleeping.

when he's sleeping he probably leave messenger on... then if the winner comes online he has the time in his chat logs so he knows when to stay awake

Not worth the time and effort.  I use one on Windows MEssenger 5 so I can run plus, and the rest are logged in via Miranda IM.
