I played Halo 2 multiplayer at a friends. Suprisingly the controls were fairly simple for such a clogged controller. Only the "L" and "R" buttons and a control stick were really needed to play. I've never tried with AIM, but I know the tabs suggestion works with ICQ and Yahoo Messenger Tabserv already has a premade ICQ tab you can add, and creating a Yahoo one isn't much harder.
