RE: Constant PC Freezing
It might be a legitimate daemon putting stress on the CPU [my laptop did the same thing when I was running ZoneAlarm + XP, uninstalled ZA and it worked fine]. Try terminating AV and indexing services one at a time to see if it makes a difference. EDI...

RE: AMD or Intel
I guess I'd vote Intel, as I am (hopefully) getting a Celeron D (2.66GHz) CPU off eBay. This one's going to take over my old AMD Athlon :D

The Pentium IV is not really one processor, the core has been completely redesigned several times, through NetBurst, Willamette, Northwood, Prescott and Cedar Mill. Other CPUs you might want to look into if you're interested in CPU technology are t...

RE: Blue Screen Error..
If its random, my first thought is overheating. Find a program that can see your CPU's temperature or go into the BIOS's hardware monitor after one of these errors and see what the temperature sensors are reporting. anything greater than 50C could ...

The 100% CPU usage on start by svchost.exe is caused by Automatic Update (oddly enough this seems to be the case if you got Office 2003 and not with Office 2007..i suffer the same since i went back from 2007 to 2003 version). I advice you to turn of ...
