RE: Does this plug in exist?
You would need a pretty good server to do this. Not so much one with a good CPU, I'd imagine if you kept the code clean it wouldn't consume that many cycles, but memory is an issue. My websever is a kick ass one, but it's clustered and the compan...

RE: OMG Screw getting a Mac...
I would personally never try to stick a mac inside this computer (even though SSE3 is supported by my cpu. It's just not right imo. I'll probably not buy a mac in the next 10 years, but I'd like to try one:)

I hope you enjoy illegally running your illegal copy of Mac OS X. Even if you purchased Mac OS X, it does not entitle you to run it on any machine BUT an Apple system. You can expect continued dodgy support for applications. This thread is VE...

Check your hardware against the osx86 wiki http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10 .4.6 THIS WILL NOT WORK ON ALL PC'S, Your Processor must support SSE2, AMD dual cores say that they support SSE3 but they currently do not work with OSX86 (...

RE: Desktops vs Laptops Speed.
It depends on what exactly is in the laptop and the desktop. Computer performance is made up of many components. A CPU that is truly equal will perform equally. In general, laptop hard drives are slower and laptops are built with lesser graphics ...

RE: bypass steam (no, not hacking)
It doesn't take amazing software to be able to run Half Life 2: Lost Coast. Either way, it isn't really worth the download, you may aswell just buy Half-Life 2: Episode 1, it has the improved features of Lost Coast and better AI. Lost Coast is just...

RE: I need expert help: how to make my Windows XP faster?
Nice -- that computer is a great candidate for some upgrades. You currently have a relatively fast processor (2GHz) that is seriously hampered by not enough RAM and, for games, a woefully inadequate graphics card. Addressing both of those won't ma...

RE: Tabbed Chat - Too many tabs slows down display (WLM)
Well, actually, my XP install is brand new, and this is not the hard drive that is having trouble (doesn't emit any specific rattling) : it really looks like a bug. I still don't think this is a performance issue, though : running on a A64 X2 4200+...

RE: Building a custom computer
The Radeon should work with CS:S, but don't expect fantastic graphics from it. As for silent cooling systems, that's basically heatpipe technology for the graphics card, a big northbridge heatsink, and water cooling for the CPU. ...

RE: Building a custom computer
Fans are cheap, so don't worry about them. You will need a graphics card in order to have dual monitors. 450W PSU should suffice for everything.
