RE: High Processor usage
Well I guess I'm used to WLM using around 40MB of ram so I don't consider that a problem here. CPU usage very normal.

RE: High Processor usage
UPDATE: I have WLM running all day without Messenger Plus! Live, and haven't had high CPU usage or computer slowdown. So i think it is caused by MsgPlus! Live

RE: High Processor usage
I appears that upon first opening WLM with MP!L the Processor usage is normal. After a few MP!L Notification Alert Pop-ups my CPU usage starts shooting up again. Is anyone else having this problem?

RE: High Processor usage
Hmm, I don't have it that bad, but I can see opening just a single window rockets the cpu usage of msnmsgr.exe here as well.

RE: CPU fan help
What kind of CPU cooler do you have now, if you know? Loud is subjective and it would help to know that. Is it an Intel retail box one? Zalman makes some good and very quiet ...

RE: CPU fan help
What socket is the CPU, 478 Pin or 775 Pin [Edit] I would go for Arctic Cooling. I have that fan for my CPU and its very quiet.

RE: Antivirus
I can't tell you the exact memory usage of McAfee Antivirus, but I have the software package here at home and the mem usage is much lower than that of Norton IMO, it runs very smoothly, even when I used to have 512Mb RAM. Considering how new the sof...

RE: Can't install MAC OS
http://www.nedprod.com/Niall_stuff/MacOS%20X/index .html Really your not supposed to install OSX on vanilla x86 hardware. Your only supposed to use it on Apple brand hardware (macintosh) considering the newer macs (iMac and mini) use intel procs.

RE: Can't install MAC OS
Well, the OS i have is MAC for x86 (Supposed to be Intel/AMD cpus)... I think you already know about this release. If you don't know yet take a look HERE. I searched on this official site they only mention Inte...

RE: somethings still running hot
When my CPU HSF wansn't on properly, the computer would turn itself off a few seconds after I turned it on. When I turned it on again, it turned itself off faster (because the PCU was already warm, and it didn't take as long for it to get dangerous...

RE: graphics card
What I said still stands though... PCI-E or AGP doesn't make a difference as far as "compatibility with (new) games" is concearned. The difference is in how the computer 'talks' to the card. For the game it doesn't matter if it is a AGP, PCI-E ...

Ive heard of high end PS's having them. But not your average one.. My board has 3 sensors on it, both my hdd's have sensors, my cpu and graphics card so their probly the ones your looking at.

RE: somethings still running hot
try going into your BIOS, some chipsets have a builtin hardware monitor, and it might be a bit more descriptive. Lavalays works well too. As for items that have a temp probe, usually the CPU, HD, some graphics cards. I have never heard of a P/S havin...

RE: Windows Vista Build 5365 Released
Well, to be fair here Vista isn't going to be cheap as it is. IIRC the last time I looked, the basic version of Vista is going to be around something like $250USD. That's a hella lot more than XP Home is at the moment. If you can afford to buy a o...

RE: Audio Skipping/Stuttering
Intruiging... I very occasionally get jumpy performance at unpredictable times across the entire system. I haven't been able to track it to a particular process, but the CPU usage spikes are present. Each 'freeze' coincides with a spike.
