RE: how can i found out if i will be able to install a new video card? wtf... that must be the first mobo which isn't identified by Everest.... Anyways, I don't see anything about an AGP slot... I do see you have 1 PCIe slot (?).... Take that screenshot of your mobo anyways :P and see if you can fin... | CookieRevised | Tech Talk | 06-28-2005 at 02:09 PM |
RE: how can i found out if i will be able to install a new video card? i'm not sure i have a the brown slot in the first picture. i opened it ope just to see, andi saw that my fan on my cpu is the size of a cd. i'll post pictures later. | TheMusicPirate | Tech Talk | 06-28-2005 at 12:24 PM |
RE: Computer Overheating! It shouldn't be difficult, and you're looking for a small 3-pin connector with red, white, black wires in that order. They only connect one way round. The connectors on the mobo should have FANx written by them - usually FAN1 for CPU, FAN2 for syst... | RaceProUK | Tech Talk | 06-27-2005 at 12:35 PM |
RE: I'm having the same problem with heat... My pc is getting a bit too hot.. We both got Prescotts (yours is a Prescott build, right?)... They get a bit hotter then the Northwood cpu's.. You processor can be 75 ~ 80 degrees celcius, without problems..... | Sypher | Tech Talk | 06-25-2005 at 04:17 PM |
RE: Computer Overheating! If you have never had a self-shutdown or reset then i don't think there's a problem, i think TheBlasphemer is corrent, some computer mark some temperature while others another one. My computer marks my CPU is always at 60C, i told this to a friend.... | YottabyteWizard | Tech Talk | 06-25-2005 at 03:38 PM |
RE: Computer Overheating! I don't know if I have the same problem, but once I left my computer downloading for a night, I came back the morning, the computer was reset? =\ Is that a cause of overheating? I have never overclocked or whatever my CPU. | brian | Tech Talk | 06-25-2005 at 02:20 PM |
RE: Computer Overheating! Erm, depends. Just normal. | Chris4 | Tech Talk | 06-25-2005 at 01:06 PM |
RE: Computer Overheating! Obviously he needs a new CPU fan. :S  Dude, it's safe to turn on/off your computer with a side open, in fact, i builded a computer WITHOUT case, just a power supply, motherboard, and everythign else, started the motherboard manually with a s... | YottabyteWizard | Tech Talk | 06-25-2005 at 02:57 AM |
RE: Computer Overheating! the temperatures shown in speedfan depends on the motherboard's sensor, but generally the higher is the CPU's yes.. maybe just a lot of dust on the heatsink *-) a lot -_- | Apatik | Tech Talk | 06-24-2005 at 07:43 PM |
RE: Computer Overheating! not necessarily raceprouk most processors these days are good for 80c and unseated just means its not sitting flush with the core, so heat is still being transferred just not efficiently, i myself have had an unseated heatsink heck i once ran a duron... | squall_leonhart69r | Tech Talk | 06-24-2005 at 05:17 PM |
RE: 6800Ultra or 7800GTX depends if you want the better looking graphics and really. the 7800GTX could beat two 6800u in sli. just gotta get a cpu fast enough to feed it data :P | squall_leonhart69r | Tech Talk | 06-24-2005 at 05:06 PM |
RE: 6800Ultra or 7800GTX <offtopic> I assume there's a reason GPU makers haven't adopted the latest CPU 90nm process. </offtopic> Given the difference between the two cards is 20Euro, then go for the 7800. If, however, you wait a little, the 6800 should drop in price. Gett... | RaceProUK | Tech Talk | 06-24-2005 at 05:00 PM |
RE: Computer Overheating! Which would be signified by a thin trail of smoke leaving the PC. This, of course, being the CPU frying itself. The best course of action here is really to clean the insides first, then take a look at whether the fans are working. The fact that the e... | RaceProUK | Tech Talk | 06-24-2005 at 04:57 PM |
RE: Computer Overheating! OK WTF something is very wrong here BUT just coz you feel air coming out the back doesn't mean its all good now most computers have a safety cut off of about 60-70c it sounds like your CPU Fan is dead which would explain why its getting so hot STOP ... | squall_leonhart69r | Tech Talk | 06-24-2005 at 03:30 PM |
Computer Overheating! I'm getting very worried about my computer. Firstly, my computer has been turning off after about 1.5 hours of use on it. When I feel the back of the tower, it is very hot. The fan seems to be working fine. I can feel (warm) air coming out. I... | Chris4 | Tech Talk | 06-24-2005 at 03:22 PM |
RE: 6800Ultra or 7800GTX no it doesn't LOL, silly :P the microprocess is just how big the transistors are :P review is in my post above smaller microprocess = less power needed less power needed = less heat made the DIE size is the same, but the transistors that make up th... | squall_leonhart69r | Tech Talk | 06-24-2005 at 03:10 PM |
RE: nVidia or ATI? I couldn't say it any better... ;) | CookieRevised | Tech Talk | 06-24-2005 at 09:33 AM |
RE: nVidia or ATI? Remember: PCI-Express shows significantly higher performance when compared to even the fastest AGP. | RaceProUK | Tech Talk | 06-22-2005 at 04:36 PM |
RE: nVidia or ATI? Yeah! go Pci-express, spend 500 extra bucks on a new mobo and a new CPU, while you could've bought a similar card on AGP :P Hmmmmz, what do you guys think of the 6800 Ultra 256mb? It's got 2xDVI (that's what convinced me, I've got two LCD's :P)... | TheBlasphemer | Tech Talk | 06-22-2005 at 02:57 PM |

RE: Intel Chipsets ok, since your chip has no hardware support try this its called 3danalyser, it'll emulate the calls required to let you play games by forcing them through the cpu http://www.falconfly.de/downloads/3danalyzer-v236. zip this will be slower, and i can'... | squall_leonhart69r | Tech Talk | 06-22-2005 at 10:54 AM |

RE: Intel Chipsets erm... hes already tried Everest, and if it does't say it in there it won't say in cpuz or SiSoft | squall_leonhart69r | Tech Talk | 06-19-2005 at 05:01 PM |
RE: Intel Chipsets Or use a thrid part program like SiSoft Sandra or CPU-Z (http://www.cpuid.org/cpuz.php) which should tell you what motherboard you have. | Garndell | Tech Talk | 06-19-2005 at 04:45 PM |
