RE: pc fan working strange In general the fan is always on, and never turns of. Because if it did there would be a build up of hot air around the heatsink, which would eventially stop the heatsink transfering heat away from the cpu, then frying the cpu. You can get passive hea... | Plik | Tech Talk | 12-28-2004 at 12:47 AM |
RE: pc fan working strange I didn't knew we were talking about the cpu fan. Thought about fans in general. Most motherboards of these days will shut down when it's getting to hot, but you don't know how old his one is. | Kryptonate | Tech Talk | 12-28-2004 at 12:46 AM |
RE: Fried CPU! (Picture!) you will see it when things go wrong with your graphics card. You'll get blocks in your screen. If you get this, shut down your computer immediatly and get a fan for your graphics card. | Kryptonate | Tech Talk | 12-28-2004 at 12:43 AM |
RE: pc fan working strange for all of u the fan is connected to the cpu, if it wasnt it wouldnt know when to turn on or off ,if there is a load on the cpu it turns on ,if there isnt any load it becomes quiter and quiter untill it turns off. | MC.POP | Tech Talk | 12-28-2004 at 12:40 AM |
RE: pc fan working strange Most motherboards offer some sort of CPU fan monitoring feature. And most have a feature that slows the fan down when theres low system load, making it quiter. Plus it can shut down the computer if the fan fails. So its generaly a good idea to plug ... | Plik | Tech Talk | 12-28-2004 at 12:37 AM |

RE: Fried CPU! (Picture!) Dude, it's melted. I know what I'm talking about. It fried, it's black and burnt and smells like it's burning when you boot it. the melted stuff is the buffer that seperates the heatsync and the processor. | .blade// | Tech Talk | 12-24-2004 at 03:33 PM |

RE: Fried CPU! (Picture!) Umm, that isnt a melted cpu.... That metallic stuff around the core is just whats left of your thermal compound... A 700mhz celron couldnt produce enough heat to melt a core. Liquid nitrogen isnt that great as a cpu cooling tool. It may be extreamly... | JedeyeNite | Tech Talk | 12-24-2004 at 02:30 PM |
RE: 64 or 32 bit processor? definitely the AMD Athlon 3500+ 64-bit, its just faster and more reliable, I hate the Intel CPU's, they seem to be slow and just not as good as the AMD... hence why I have an amd  | user27089 | Tech Talk | 12-24-2004 at 11:46 AM |

RE: 64 or 32 bit processor? AMD 64-bit CPU's are amazingly speedy with 64 bit apps. Wait until 64-bit Windows comes out if you fairly want to judge the performace of these CPU's. 64-bit is backwards compatiable with 32-bit apps (which includes Windows). The only upside about ... | eckocomplex | Tech Talk | 12-23-2004 at 06:20 AM |
