for all of u the fan is connected to the cpu, if it wasnt it wouldnt know when to turn on or off ,if there is a load on the cpu it turns on ,if there isnt any load it becomes quiter and quiter untill it turns off. | MC.POP | Tech Talk | 12-28-2004 at 12:40 AM |

Umm, that isnt a melted cpu.... That metallic stuff around the core is just whats left of your thermal compound... A 700mhz celron couldnt produce enough heat to melt a core. AMD 64-bit CPU's are amazingly speedy with 64 bit apps. Wait until 64-bit Windows comes out if you fairly want to judge the performace of these CPU's. 64-bit is backwards compatiable with 32-bit apps (which includes Windows).
