RE: [Split] Reputation System
True, but I think scaling the numbers to, say, one of five levels, should reduce some of the rep-hunting.

RE: [Split] Reputation System
i think the rep system is important, and should stay. [u]when not abused[/u], the reputation system helps distinguish people (such as Cookie and Sunshine among others) for their help and contribution to the community. it is sort of like getting awar...

RE: [Split] Reputation System
Tell that to the rep-obsessed people. 8-) Then they blame others because of their higher reps and stuff. And while we all know they have no control over other people.

RE: [Split] Reputation System
True, having a reptuation system is always going to be stating that someone is potentially better then someone else. People that are helping alot deserve the positive feedback but people that are trying their best but not getting people giving them p...

RE: [Split] Reputation System
What would be better? There would always be different levels (and therefore the possibility of competition), and those levels would be based on numbers.

RE: [Split] Reputation System
I'm not really advocating it's removal, but I think it'd work better if reputation wasn't a number.

I'm all for disabling the reputation system. 8-)

RE: Reputation reason guidelines
I requested this (I think it was me :P) a while back, but because it would be hastle and probably abused, then it would be ludacris to add something as this.

RE: Reputation reason guidelines
Is adding a rep in a language the person who recived the rep against the rules? I got some Dutch rep and I have no idea what it says (negative rep, my only one).

RE: Reputation reason guidelines
I'm glad that you've added some rules to this now, some people were getting the most stupid reputations... I saw this guy with 3 posts a +4 rep, and the reasons were all along the lines of "good avatar"....

RE: [Split] Reputation System
Better would be to just hide post and rep from all non full members. Stops them from whining about high post/rep count and also makes it so that they see the forums as they truly are for a little while before they get handed the post and rep counts.

RE: [Split] Reputation System
I made a post on my blog which hinted at my displeasure at reputation being reduced to a mere number. If the rep system must stay, let's hide all the numbers, and instead have ratings like 'Helpful', 'Spammer', 'Average' - y'know, general rat...
