If it is related to polygamy and to be more precise StuffPlug-NG's polygamy patch, then disable the plugin and use a hard patch to enable polygamy and test this again. I think it's related to polygamy, I only have this problem on my second account, so my first account runs fine and then when I open a second MSN window, sign in, then open a convo it crashes the second MSN instance. You can have separate key combinations for separate MSN accounts, or just disable it for certain accounts.
