Personally I think an option to resize it might be very nice. However, you can already display a lot of emoticons on one panel. And you can create many panels (that's what they are there for). You don't have to open it BEFORE leaving the computer. It will still log the events of your contacts even if not displayed, it is not like a program that should be run to work, it already starts to run when Messenger is started. Quick Icons Panel is Blank

Well, it seems to me that a scrollable list was more interesting than a huge box without scrollbars, I can perfectly understand why Patchou would use scrollbars.
