RE: [Beta] Session Open Notifier for WLM (Formally known as Window Open Notifier)
Personally I like that quirk. As it lets you know when they're typing again after 60seconds (the 'user is typing message' doesnt seem to always show up if its gone 60seconds) - If anything is altered, maybe an option could be given to allow this ...

RE: [Beta] Session Open Notifier for WLM (Formally known as Window Open Notifier)
Yes, that might be possible, but this is the only time you would almost be certain the notification came from a opened window. All other times you are not certain at all. Also as you pointed out yourself, a contact can perfectly open a window without...

RE: Encarta contact and Window Open Notifier
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is one of two keys to more reliable window opened notifiers. They are: 1. Session that doesn't close immediately. 2. Receipt of a 'User is typing' message. I'm going to see if I can use the latter in Phoenix Live.

RE: The open/closed window notifier feature
the whole point is that there is NO clear way to understand them. You can NEVER EVER be sure ALL THE TIME. (and if you reply with the biased argument that it works for you 90% of time, I can perfectly reply it works at the most 50% of the tim...

RE: The open/closed window notifier feature
going round in circles here.. yes in its present form, it is not a reliable window open notifier. However it can still be used as one. (as for the parts of your post i havnt quoted, that is because they are more immature replies which i cant be ars...

RE: The open/closed window notifier feature
wrong.... Before you call people sad and stuff, why don't you actually test that event out? Or even simply search the forums about it? It is exactly posts/comments like this which are the culprint of so much misconceptions about "notifiers". That ...

RE: The open/closed window notifier feature
Although i havent studied the very latest protocol (13) i believe you are wrong. Open/close notifiers DO work. It may not be reliable but it still does work. When someone first clicks on you and starts typing, a connection is created to that ...

RE: add "user has closed conversation" info
What would a hidden function be good for when it doesn't work in the first place? What are you going to interpret? If you want some random stuff shown on your screen, better write a small script, it will be 500% more "reliable" and "working". Tbh, if...

RE: Intresting fact about Open/Close convo notifier....
Old news. :P What i do is if i see a pop up i open the window and see if it says that the person is typing a msg. It works :cheesy: Its not special cause everyone has it now  So if "Xyz" opens a convo window and i open it to see if hes typing...

RE: Plugin Requested
It does depend on whether you see this idea as a replacement for open-convo-notifiers. I see it more as a 'User is actually starting to talk to you' notifier.

RE: Plugin Requested
Well, since no one uses open convo notifiers anymore, the plugin could send the open headers to every contact online, and every contact that comes online, but that might cause problems

RE: Plugin Requested
This suggestion is actually a definate possibility, unlike open-convo-notifiers, as the 'User is typing' packet is a discrete entity sent in a very specific scenario i.e. when someone types. If you wanted, you could configure the following: - Sound...

RE: Is there any way of knowing whether your contact has read your msn message
Messenger will only open the session again when the contact starts typing the message, so you will only get the window opened notifyer if they type.
