RE: Every time... we say goodbye... I die a little.
I didn't believe in the whole 2012 hype but after reading Patch's email, I am conviced. The whole "end of the world in 2012" thing is true.. (<bad_joke>And the first step was Plus! going corporate</bad_joke>) If Patchou says it, it's defi...

RE: Every time... we say goodbye... I die a little.
After reading some stuff here (but not everything): On one side I can understand some of the POV, on the other hand some seem to forget that Yuna Software is still a company in the making, it isn't finished yet afaik, and at the same time they are t...

RE: here are some suggestions..
The scripting engine exists so that Plus! doesn't rely only on Patchou/Yuna software to have new features, anyone can add it's own bit to it. Would write more if my battery wasn't near complete discharge by now :p

RE: Did, in your honest opinion, Patchou sell out?
Well I didnt think that Yuna Software was going to make Messenger Plus! Live payware (?) or make the ads nonoptional but it is a choice. I believe that Patchou is smart and has stated some clause when he gave this company his software. BTW this compa...

RE: Did, in your honest opinion, Patchou sell out?
I wholeheartedly agree with that. Looking at the current history and the fact that Patchou still is within Yuna Software, if this was to happen I would be extremely surprised.

RE: Did, in your honest opinion, Patchou sell out?
Odd. http://www.patchou.com/projects/msgplus/4/ The last part of that post is about Yuna and new owners, but the entire thing is a nice history read http://www.patchou.com/projects/msgplus/ (4 pages).

RE: Every time... we say goodbye... I die a little.
I'm honestly pessimistic about the whole situation. I mean are there any truly focused Messenger developers out there anymore? I do think we need to judge on action, maybe Yuna Software isn't in full swing yet and thus distributing information to t...

RE: Every time... we say goodbye... I die a little.
Patchou said: "my roll in the company is, officialy, software architect [...] new builds were released by myself but I'm not the one who decided what to put in there".

afaik, it won't disappear... a few people are willing to keep it alive. also, a collectively redacted letter would be nice, as it would portray the views of the beta testing community as a whole.

RE: Every time... we say goodbye... I die a little.
That could backfire a lot and pretty much destroy the reputation of the community. I think the best thing to do is handle it maturely and prove our worth by continuing to support the product as we have always done. I also agree with ONE e-mail goin...

RE: Every time... we say goodbye... I die a little.
An alternate idea can be to show how valuable the community is. Any request that comes in on the forum we redirect them to email support@yunasoftware.com. This will allow them to see how effective we are as a community. All of a sudden they would be ...

RE: New Forum Server/Hardware/Domain
I just whois'ed msghelp.net and found that this domain is actually now owned by Yuna. I really say we move? It (staying here) feels pretty insecure.

RE: Every time... we say goodbye... I die a little.
Or one person writing a mail that's approved by us in here that will later be sent to them on our behalf. :) Clarity would be great. I certainly hope the community doesn't break up. I've met a lot of great people here, learned a lot of things and...

RE: Every time... we say goodbye... I die a little.
What I don't fully understand is that Patchou said he created the company Yuna SW so he must be the CEO or president (or, at least, the CTO), however he says he can't tell anything else... I know that there may be NDA's and that kind of contracts ...

RE: Every time... we say goodbye... I die a little.
I can see why you've changed your strategy Patchou. Instant messaging is in decline and threatened by new substitute services i.e. the growth of social networking. I can see the same interest declining in Messenger at my end and although it is piece...

RE: WLM 2010 revealed
He doesn't, we just know that Yuna Software won't be disbanding so soon after it's formation in 2009. There will definitely be a Messenger Plus! 5 and maybe a Messenger Plus! 6. Even though the changes to Windows Live Messenger are vast a...

RE: New Forum Server/Hardware/Domain
The forums are gonna be a lot different without WDZ :p I pretty much think Yuna doesn't care about these forums or they should've appeared here. And it does seem that many people don't want to work for Yuna for their current strategy with the dist...

RE: New Forum Server/Hardware/Domain
Well, do we want this board (as it currently stands) to remain the official MP!L board, or do we want to distance ourselves from Yuna Software and become more unofficial? I'm really not sure what would be best, mainly because we have no idea what Yu...

RE: Every time... we say goodbye... I die a little.
Bottom line is: Patchou will still be in charge of developing MP!L5, and when it's been sorted out he will have a small team of developers to help him with it. It can turn out great. He's not the owner on the business side anymore though. Decisions...

RE: New Forum Server/Hardware/Domain
We could get a new domain just in case, the problem i see though is that Yuna may not see the domain change with good eyes (because the new domain wont be owned by them of course :P). i dunno if we should do such a thing if we wanna stay "official"...

New Forum Server/Hardware/Domain
Hello to you, my good people. I just bought up the issue of moving the forum to new hardware with Cyril again, because this server is seriously on its last legs and I think we'd get much better performance elsewhere. By elsewhere, I mean my lovely M...
