hey, well my ideas where a (!WAT) command for windows media player.... its so needed... wmp9 kicks ass...
/forune command... as if people dont want a fortune command, you can pass hours with it...
and i got more stuff written down at home, ill check back in when i get home...

That would be great. I suggested it a while ago, but I can't make one myself. I only use Windows Media Player 8 though, so I hope such a thing would still work.

yes well..the question is.. is it doable? are there events that you can call to do such a thing?
remember, that the plugins are dll's that are limited to ONLY events, so you call the events, like on text receieved or something..quite limited due to security issues though...

By the time this message reaches you, I will be working on a version of (!WAT) for windows media player...
Any recommendations on what command or tag it should be?
I know VB and C++, but not enough to convert this SDK to VB

I am looking into Visual Basic conversion.
As Patchou has explained it as not as easy as it seems, you cannot just conver the code. Visual Basic does not have the ability to export dll's with funciton tables, which the Messenger Plus! Plugin library needs.
There are several PAY solutions (Addins for visual basic) but we are still trying to find one that is free.

I've finished the plugin and added some commands like /wmplay /wmforward /wmspeed and stuff, but until any of us can get those damned headers working, I can't test it.
I know that the part of it to control and access WMP works, at least for version 9, but i can't get it to use the commands on messenger

but can you already use (!WMP) tag to display artist and song title? This is the only thing i need, cuz' it's already easy enough to control WMP from taskbar, even without need to maximuze it

Unfortunately, no...
The only person i've seen who can get the plugins to work at ALL did it in VB and only in the initialization...
As soon as we get the SDK working though, i'll upload it
And those commands are just there for the lazy

i had no problem getting the plugins working..
in VS .NET the default plugin compiled fine and worked in plus, just modifed that to how i wanted..

Nup, my commands were starting with x, it was because the preprocessor directive for the plugins wasn't defined...
I've got them working in all types of DLLs now, even MFC ones...
All I have to do now is finish off the code (there are still some major bugs causing complete crashes)

lol, alrighty then, i guess i'll just stop, i didnt have msn plus! 2. beta until 2 days ago, and ive been partying and with my girlfriend, so i couldnt look into it, and people beat me to it.... patchou, another thing, the smiley display "(" you should make one for custom smileys... because it would be great...

Let's just say I had some nasty experiences with it in Beta stages, and again in alpha. Besides, once I install it, it doesn't come off unless I format my hard-drive. Therefore I refuse to use it. Besides, I'm happy with 8.

That plugin prob'bly wouldn't be too useful, bcos u can just ask the person and if the person wants the person to see their ip, they just have to type (!IP)

Hey, I need that plug-in, (the one that ask for the IP). It allows me to ask the ip of my brother when he is not home, he have to mark me as a contact with permision to acces that (my brother IP change every time). can it be done, plis??

you've just revied a nearly 2 year old thread, but to answer your question, you don't need a plugin, just ask your brother to send (!IP)
