Why do you guys use myBulletinBoard? Why not use something with more useful features, like Invision Power Board or something?

Just curious, so don't yell at me or anything...^o)

invision is the crappest peice of crap you can use .. it has not nearly the amount of stuff mybb has ... and mybb looks nicer .. if i were a mod i would say

easily. and with the control WDZ has, he can make any changes and fix any bugs that come up, wihtout going through a whole beaurocracy.

i like mybb cause it isnt full of gfx to make the lay out.. it loads hell fast and ive never seen a dodgy error like invision always seem to get :dodgy: ..

also mybb has an easy to use interface which i realy like.

Umm i dont think so there not avalible for downloading right now i dont think... if so tahts cool i wish i had soemwere to host them.. but anywasy i agree they are reliable and i dont use any other forms cept for my invasion free and i dont got any memeber so it dont matter... but i think MyBB has an easy interface or whatever you wanna call it and ya i like these alot:)

Yeah I'd say Invision Power Board (IPB), as it has a lot more useful features...
Name a feature myBB has, and it'll be a feature or modification in IPB.

mybb is pretty good. i've never seen better (i'm only a member of msgplus :P) its fast too even on my old peice of [SJCAGYVC]

i'm not sure if its the server or the software but its been like 6 months since i've seen that overloaded page :D

Linux + Apache = 70% of servers (that's why I don't get it :wall: )

and cee-estee, you tell us what's wrong with mybb that ipb does have / doesn't have (doesn't if it's a stupid feature)

yeah, that means it tries to identify as a windoze box or something :-/ You can read it somewhere on netcraft..

also, do a search for .microsoft.com :wink:

and things like the zone (play MS games online) also use linux..

If I remember correctly, this board had those dots too, but it was too hard on the server; WDZ or someone removed them.

myBB also has these features.  It is also possible in myBB to turn off these "dotted icons", as is the case here. :D

Actually they dont, it was determined that this result of showing linux was because of a router before microsoft's boxes themselves.

In that case, I think you're wrong.
It took me a while to figure it out, but there is a difference in the icons. Very small, yes, but a difference indeed.

Well we are hosted by myboard.com and we have admins who develop it lol :) it kind of means we are tied to it. But i dont have a problem i like it alot more:d and it has DZ mods:)

The reason the regular unread icon really stands out is because it was already modified... by GFD, I think.

maybe if htere was a ble (or other color) box instead of the faint writing, it would stand out better. maybe #FF0000, since that'll stand out on the pink

How come the Hot; Read icon on the legend shows [Image: newfolder.gif]? On all myBB communities, that is there. someone did some scripting wrong.

It's a small mistake in the templates which can easily be fixed. ;-)

Well, I don't know anything about imaging and so, but I tried to make a new Locked; Unread icon. What do you think? (Yes, the right top corner sort of sucks :P   Anyone who thinks he/she can do better, please do :)).

i like it. but i think theres more of an urgent need for a new "hot: Unread" icon. lemme start up fireworks and see what i can do.
