I thinks there isn't anything to be updated from 2.50 to 2.52. In fact, the thing that changes is the codes for multiformat nicks, and you can put /nick with the old codes and plus changes them automaticly.

Well as you can see, I write my plugin in VB...
But I think many people will enjoy the function as far as it's coded in C too;)

No, it isn't a plugin. It's only some source code that developers can add to their plugins. A little help :P
