I was wondering what figure compose the Plus! logo?
(Don't really know if I write the question well in english, but in spanish should be "Que es logotipo de Plus!?")

it is a variation on the MSN butterfly (i think), which can be found at http://www.msn.com in the top corner.
it is made by Guido.

Because the colors, I thought about the buterfly variations, but it doesn't has the sape of a butterfly, just the colors.

I think there's some copyright rule that if you change a certain percentage of an image it belongs to you, or something. Or maybe it was changed because they were threatening legal action? Who knows.

they changed it because Plus! 2 was coming out, I never heard about legal steps against Patchou for that..

It depends on the country you live, but yes, that law exist. I think they change it, just because, the newest is better, and modern

Yeah, it's based on the MSN butterfly logo... and what exactly do you have against the previous logo? I spent a lot of time designing it myself . You should see the other icons I've done for my other programs....

As for copyrights, it was important for me to remove any Microsoft copyrighted material from the software when Plus! 2.00 was released... Plus! had become very popular at that time and in this kind of situation, youi have to start considering legal matters (like other companing trying to sue you to get the Messenger Plus! name.. real story.. still not resolved )

I KNEW IT, and i said it is the butterfly logo... just with no bottom wings.. patchou cut them off and swirled the top 2

if anything to me once comparing the 2 together side by side it looks like it is the exact butterfly with a plus shape cut ou of it like as if it was done with a cookie cutter. maybe its just me

The Plus 1 logo was just changed because we appeared

The logo has the same colors of the MSN butterfly (that was Patchou's wish from the beggining, it had to be recognised as MSN Messenger-related). The shape is not MSN's butterfly swirled or anything, its (as chromo said) a design done from scratch, inspired by the MSN logo and the "!" used in Plus!1.
