by The One on 01-29-2004 at 01:51 PM

Why is it not surprising that most people said The Matrix?  I have to agree with them.  However, my favourite is definetly the first... the last is about one quarter shooting sentinels, doesnt have a great storyline and doesnt bring a great deal of new stuff to it.  The second one is good, very good, with lots of action, decent storyline and new ideas, but the plot is still not as powerful as the first.  The first has the best plot i have ever seen, brings a new dimension to all films and creates a lot of new ideas and questions. I absolutely love it!

However, my second favourite is Lord of the Rings, Return of the King, then The Two Towers and after that The Fellowship of the Ring.

Oh and by the way, if you are interested in seeing a Matrix spoof myself and some of my friends made, its at
http://www.geocities.com/whatisthecreeltrix
No surprises, its called the Creeltrix.  Its not great, but can get a few laughs.  Hope you enjoy it!

Neo

Oh and in the Creeltrix, I go by the name "The Creelchitect" (Im Ben) :)

So many to choose from:
Donny Dargo
The Matrix
All of the Lord of the Rings films
Transformers: The Movie
Most Disney films ( esp. The Lion King)
Titanic

by BooGhost on 01-30-2004 at 12:02 AM

can't remember it's name, :P

but i also like the Matrix (only the first)

by bloodymarvelous on 01-30-2004 at 11:29 AM

Impossible to name just one. But unfortunately The Matrix isn't one of them.

Pulp Fiction
Casablanca
The China Syndrome
The Shawshank Redemption
12 Monkeys
Se7en
and The Terminator rank high with me.

Of course Lord Of The Rings is magnificent, but it's too new to tell whether I'll still like it after I've seen it 20 times.

by .blade// on 02-02-2004 at 05:29 PM

Well...ya...The FIrst 2 Matrix Mvoies were prety good...and Return of the King...And yes, I do like the Terminator Mvoies...accept the endings...lol :P but I still say I like the Spiderman Movie...and S2 should be good too...Oh, and X2 of course ;) X3 should be cool whenever it so chooses to come out :P

by The Napster on 02-02-2004 at 05:46 PM

1)The Matrix Reavolutions
2)The Italian Job

by honsq90 on 02-04-2004 at 12:43 PM

I would say the Matrix trilogy :P

Haven't replied for quite a long fucking time already....

by Guido on 02-04-2004 at 02:56 PM

There was a thread like this some time ago :dodgy:

I would probably say one of the following (in no particular order):

The Matrix, The Italian Job, Back to the Future trilogy (:P), LOTR trilogy, The Sixth Sense, Nine Queens, Son of the Bride, 15 Minutes, Stygmata, Le Placard, Analyze this...

(and I'm missing several...)

by viz on 02-13-2004 at 03:53 AM

Tough choice, theres so many.

Gotta agree Scarface is up there.
And... Blow possibly, love that film.
Oh, and Trainspotting.

by CodeChaos on 02-13-2004 at 10:07 PM

Favorite Movies:
Fellowship of the Ring
The Two Towers (not twin)
Return of the King

For me it's a hard decision.... I love many movies.

Action films: The Lord of the Rings, Terminator II (I'm crazy about this movie). Heh, I liked "Back to the Future" too. ;) I also liked the old generation Star Trek movies, and Star Wars is nice too... the first Jurassic Park.... many others. :p

I also love musical films. The Sound of Music, Mary Poppins, and many other Disney films (The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, The Beauty and the Beast, etc.). Wonderful things to grow up with, I thank Disney so much for them.

Blah, I'm probably forgetting tons of other favorites.... :p but I got way more names than the last time this subject was brought up! :-p

Anyway, if I had to pick just one favorite movie, I think it would be Forrest Gump, because it's simply beautiful and moving. :)

Edit: Umm, I thought of two other action movies I should mention: The Matrix was very good (idea, design, neat kung-fu and stuff), but I didn't like the sequels. The Fifth Element had an excellent design and pace, and a good humorous directing.
by KeyStorm on 02-13-2004 at 11:44 PM

Matrix trilogy is very good, but the last two movies' script seems sort of forced (sometimes I think the first movie would've been enough). Well, if you assumed the interpretation of virus/antivirus, then you'd kinda understand it much better (a lot of people say they like the movie without understanding what's going on in it).

Another movie I liked a lot was Minority Report. Good mis-à-scène and special effects. I found the concept was awesome.

by Nascar_Chick_3 on 02-21-2004 at 03:34 AM

[font=Times New Roman][size=2][color=red]Okay what's with everyone and "The Matrix" personally I loved the movie but my all time favorite movie would have to be: "Drumline" it wasn't the greatest movie I know but I play the Snare so I loved it!!!:D

by Kage_hikaru on 02-21-2004 at 08:30 AM

INUYASHA 3 ^-^ i am an anime fanatic

by Anubis on 02-21-2004 at 09:30 AM

I really liked the Lord of the Rings trilogy but I also really liked the Matrix trilogy. Both have excellent plots, great actors and fantastic special effects. I find it hard to say which I like better.

by iascoot on 02-21-2004 at 01:02 PM

fight club :>

by Horror_Business on 02-23-2004 at 01:25 AM

The first Matrix was cool, the second was cool...the third wasnt nothin to special...

that said...my 2 favorites are Night Of The Living Dead (Romero rules!) and Dracula (Bela Lugosi is great)
..thats the originals of course...

by The Philosopher on 05-07-2004 at 07:00 AM

I just read this thread, and omg, you're all cinematically incompetent.

Out of the Matrix Trilogy, only the first one was good, the other two were total crap. LOTR, whilst nice to see a cinematic adaption of the classic books was just not all that truthful to the novels.

Whomever mentioned Blow seemed to be the only one with a streak of uniqueness in him.

You're all way too much into Hollywood crap. Minority Report is about the most philosophical and deep that Hollywood gets with films. Actually, Requiem for a Dream is pretty meaningful in terms of Hollywood films, even though the Kronos Quartet killed that requiem for me.

The best director ever? Luc Besson. Watch Le Grande Bleu and you'll understand.

The best film ever though? Filantropica. Watch it.

by marissa on 05-08-2004 at 03:18 AM

Now and then! best girl movie ever made

by brianjdupuis on 05-08-2004 at 03:19 AM

The Passion of the Christ I think was the best movie ever!

by ddunk on 05-08-2004 at 03:29 AM

The History of the World - Part One. It's an older movie, but still funny as hell.

Matrix would also get a vote from me, I personally liked the first the best. At that point, we didn't know the whole story, and had to guess a lot of it, which made it more fun for me.

by lizard.boy on 05-08-2004 at 03:33 AM

by BiZaRrE on 05-09-2004 at 06:49 AM

all time favourite......hmm....:undecided: too many to choose from..:P
lets see...there's Matrix trilogy, L.O.T.R. trilogy, Kill Bill Vol. 1 (haven't seen Vol. 2 yet), BaseketBall (SO DAMN FUNNY!!!!!), italian job (was pretty funny:)), Star Wars (Older movies had good plot(Y) but bad FX, newer movies good FX but plot wasn't as good), Starsky & Hutch was pretty funny too:)....
I don't have much time for movies now...:(
but i will have some time after my exams r over..

by The Philosopher on 05-09-2004 at 11:33 AM

Thanks for proving my point BiZaRrE.
Kill Bill Vol. 1 was one of the worst films ever made. Tarantino is too much up his own arse and too much up Kurasawa's arse to ever make a good movie.

by Sunshine on 05-09-2004 at 11:51 AM

Troy (Helen of Troy)

I also like comedies :D

by _Humphreys on 05-09-2004 at 11:59 AM

My all time favourite movie must be the gangster movie GoodFellas.:P

by musicalmidget on 05-09-2004 at 12:02 PM

Well, I would find it hard choosing my all-time favorite, but the best movie I've seen recently would have to be "Momento".  I had to watch it in media studies at school...great film. :)

by Kryptonate on 05-09-2004 at 12:28 PM

Lord of the rings: the return of the king.

The matrix trilogy isn't bad, the first one is good but then it goes backwards. Really sad, that's why it isn't my favourite movie.

Btw: Giantspider, everyone has his own opinion, no need to insult us when we have another opinion than yours ;).
