Just 2 suggestions: the secon suggestion is about truncate contact names. That feature is useful when the contact has a very long name andyou don't want it to mess up your screen so you truncate it. ok, but i've just noticed that one of my contacts has this nick: quote:so at the conversation i see J O R G E says: hello and that's really annoying. So I though, I'll truncate his name but, oh!, my preferences say: Maximun character count = 12 and his nick has only 9! that's why plus doesn't truncate it and it still is displayed in 5 lines.... So the suggestion is this: Plus should truncate "Maximun character count" characters or less if there is a line break before those characters. This way the nick will fill into a single line and it'll look like better. Those are my suggestions. Comments? RE: 2 suggestions: (!!X) and truncate contact names by Mnjul on 02-28-2004 at 01:23 AM

quote: Type (![ctrl+o]VER) and you'll get this: Windows Version: Windows XP, 5.01.2600 Messenger Client Version: 6.1.0207 Messenger Plus! Version: 2.54.0074 just use something like that RE: 2 suggestions: (!!X) and truncate contact names by KeyStorm on 02-28-2004 at 11:03 AM
The second suggestion I would extend to: cut-off all carriage-returns (new lines) and show them as spaces RE: 2 suggestions: (!!X) and truncate contact names by Choli on 02-28-2004 at 02:10 PM
quote:no, you can't quote:that are 2 messages. I want it in only 1 quote:if the contact hasn't got plus installed, s/he'll see the character for Ctrl+O, and I don't want it, because maybe I want to say: If you'd have plus installed, you just type (!!VER) and it is changed by your version numbers and you'll get something like: (!VER) quote:good one quote:good point too What does Patchou think about this? * Choli looks at him RE: 2 suggestions: (!!X) and truncate contact names by Striker on 03-09-2004 at 11:17 PM

The first suggestion is really very very good!! RE: 2 suggestions: (!!X) and truncate contact names by Choli on 03-13-2004 at 01:12 AM
quote:no, because I like to see my contact's nick and if it is too long then sometimes i decide to shot it... they're different features RE: 2 suggestions: (!!X) and truncate contact names by Pure_BY on 03-13-2004 at 11:09 AM If you short that name to 1 character, you will only see the J.. RE: 2 suggestions: (!!X) and truncate contact names by Choli on 03-13-2004 at 11:42 AM
quote:but i won't.... I'm fine if the nick plus the "says:" text fill in one single line so I use to use the default length (it's 12 characters, isn't it?) |
