it 'dissapeared () a long time ago. RE: where did "location" go? by WDZ on 03-17-2004 at 04:00 AM
quote:It was never in MyBB, was it? It may have been in DevBB... We already have posts, age, sex, joined, status, reputation... getting kinda crowded. RE: where did "location" go? by lopardo on 03-17-2004 at 04:01 AM
Well, I just noticed it now RE: where did "location" go? by Chrono on 03-17-2004 at 04:04 AM
yes u are right RE: where did "location" go? by WDZ on 03-17-2004 at 04:11 AM
Well, currently users can enter a long string such as "City, State, Country, Continent, Planet" and I'm certainly not going to allow all that to be shown next to posts. RE: where did "location" go? by Chrono on 03-17-2004 at 04:16 AM
@ flag. would look crappy with this theme RE: where did "location" go? by lopardo on 03-17-2004 at 04:17 AM
Blah, just limit the text to 10 chars or something RE: where did "location" go? by WDZ on 03-17-2004 at 04:21 AM
quote:But the long locations are good when you're viewing a profile... I'd rather just cut (truncate) the string to a certain length when it's displayed next to a post. I still think there's already enough crap next to posts though... RE: where did "location" go? by Chrono on 03-17-2004 at 04:24 AM
if u remove the reputation thingy, u wont be using more space RE: where did "location" go? by WDZ on 03-17-2004 at 04:31 AM
quote:But we're going to use the reputation feature... as soon as I can be bothered to set it up. quote:Uhh... 26. The avatar caption maximum length is 36, but we have to allow for "Location: ". RE: where did "location" go? by Chrono on 03-17-2004 at 04:34 AM
quote:That's exactly why im asking u to remove it quote: Santiago, Chile = 15 chars RE: where did "location" go? by martin on 03-17-2004 at 05:10 AM
yea, ppls locations can be to long. quote: RE: where did "location" go? by sock on 03-17-2004 at 06:24 AM
Central Israel = 14 chars RE: where did "location" go? by Johnny_Mac on 03-17-2004 at 07:00 PM
The Flags! RE: where did "location" go? by musicalmidget on 03-17-2004 at 09:06 PM
I don't really think a persons location really needs to be added to the side of their posts. Afterall, what's so hard about just clicking the profile button to see a users location, if you really want to know it. RE: where did "location" go? by Johnny_Mac on 03-17-2004 at 09:15 PM
quote:That already exists from the first DevBB we had when WDZ added them. RE: where did "location" go? by musicalmidget on 03-17-2004 at 09:23 PM
quote: In that case, ignore my last comment. I still don't like them though. RE: where did "location" go? by CookieRevised on 03-18-2004 at 10:12 AM Don't like it iether. As said before, it doesn't bring anything valueble to the posts. If I wanna know who's from what country, I'll check the profile... RE: where did "location" go? by azn angel on 03-18-2004 at 11:15 AM
hey but isnt reputation kidna pointless, because the really important people already have that caption above the stars... RE: where did "location" go? by CookieRevised on 03-18-2004 at 01:40 PM everything says (or should say) something about the quality of the posts the person makes. (except the gender). The reputation isn't working yet, but it is going to be implemented eventualy. The stars and title have nothing to do with reputation but with postcount. |
