WDZ I think you should make it your next project :P  since you cant edit your own poll after you posted it :refuck:
RE: Preview Poll by Tochjo on 04-27-2004 at 05:01 PM

* Tochjo noticed it being gone in the RC3 code
* Tochjo noticed it hasn't been removed completely - was planning to report that, thanks for reminding

Maybe remove the button for previewing until its finished? Always stops confusion and multiple bug reporting. :P

Poll preview is coming soon for new polls, done for editing polls.

I just finished a project I've been working on for a few days (only a couple hours per day, of course :P). My goals were:

- Allow non-mods to edit their own polls.
- Stop dodgy mods from forging poll votes! :dodgy:
- Fix all bugs in the poll edit feature.

I think all 3 are done. Go post a poll and try to edit it... see what you think. I added quite a few limitations to stop abuse, but it's still much better than nothing, right? :p

The reason you can't edit options without resetting the votes is simple... here's a scenario:

1. You post a poll with 2 options: "Yes" and "No"
2. People vote
3. You edit the poll and switch the options around
4. Now it looks like the people who voted "Yes" voted "No" and vice versa.

Yeah, sounds logical. (Y)

Update: Now poll preview should be working everywhere...

It's not great... it only shows the vote form and not the results, but I think it's good enough. :p

changing the question of the poll should force the reset of it too.

should disabling the multiple choice option force the reset of the poll too?

It would have to really

Otherwise you'd end up with a Screwed up poll :P

RE: Preview Poll by WDZ on 04-28-2004 at 05:00 PM

Blah, I forgot about the question... I'll take care of that.

I suppose if you had a multiple poll and people voted for mutiple options, then you changed it to non-multiple, that would be pretty screwed up. :p

I don't think there's a problem if you change a poll from non-multiple to multiple though... especially if I allow users to change their votes.
