Hey Everyone! RE: Sponsored Links on the forums by Patchou on 04-30-2004 at 06:09 AM
I've recently seen on some other forums that some words in posts were automatically linked to search results... do you think it would be a good idea to add that on the forum (honnestly, I think that adding a banner at the bottom of the site won't bring anything tangible). RE: Sponsored Links on the forums by wj on 04-30-2004 at 06:12 AM
Actually it automatically bases it's ads on the content of the page RE: Sponsored Links on the forums by Patchou on 04-30-2004 at 06:17 AM haa... then its another reason for everyone to click RE: Sponsored Links on the forums by wj on 04-30-2004 at 06:19 AM Exactly RE: Sponsored Links on the forums by ZrednaZ on 04-30-2004 at 08:09 AM
I don't see any Google thing to click... RE: Sponsored Links on the forums by Choli on 04-30-2004 at 09:54 AM
sometimes it shows the logo of teh forums: quote:Interesting... RE: Sponsored Links on the forums by Tochjo on 04-30-2004 at 10:12 AM When just the logo is shown (as Choli posted), it isn't centered. Wouldn't that look nicer? RE: Sponsored Links on the forums by Nicole on 04-30-2004 at 10:28 AM
As far as a i know, it's against the adsense TOS to tell users to click the ads. quote: http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum20/1498.htm RE: Sponsored Links on the forums by fluffy_lobster on 04-30-2004 at 02:51 PM
quote:no please! I can't think of a worse thing to have... it's so intrusive... you sometimes think links are real links only to find it's an ad - it's like product placement in films imho, it spoils the atmosphere of what you're there to enjoy RE: Sponsored Links on the forums by wj on 04-30-2004 at 02:56 PM
quote: Would you prefer Penis enlargement ads? hehehehe..... It displays the MsgPlus ad when it doesnt have targeted ads. And yes it is aginst there tos to tell people to click, Thats why I worded it very carefully. RE: Sponsored Links on the forums by Wabz on 04-30-2004 at 03:39 PM
Is it possible for the linked pages to come in a new frame Please? RE: Sponsored Links on the forums by reisyboy on 04-30-2004 at 04:53 PM
quote:Yeh thats true it is anoying But for now when you press the link if you press shift it opens in a new window (Atleast it does in IE). So i guess people can do that in the meantime RE: Sponsored Links on the forums by wj on 04-30-2004 at 04:58 PM I have no controll over the way there linked..... RE: Sponsored Links on the forums by kao on 04-30-2004 at 06:10 PM your not allowed to edit the script in any way, which is a bit annoying RE: Sponsored Links on the forums by doggie on 05-01-2004 at 03:01 AM i think its a good idea.. a non instrusive way of getting a little bit of cash what would you prefer, banner adds or spyware or porn ads? which sounds better ? google adsense program will make plenty of money eventually as i known a lot of sites that have used there money to get things like there own server.. i must give you around of a applause patchou for a good idea RE: Sponsored Links on the forums by lizard.boy on 05-01-2004 at 03:04 AM bah seen most of the messenger related ads on kao's old site RE: Sponsored Links on the forums by fluffy_lobster on 05-01-2004 at 08:45 AM
quote:If you ever add the text hilighting feature, your post would probably indeed be linked to a penis enlargement site in the format above RE: Sponsored Links on the forums by Guido on 05-01-2004 at 07:04 PM Doesn't bother at all, can help a bit... --> good RE: Sponsored Links on the forums by reisyboy on 05-01-2004 at 07:48 PM wj you might want to setup the filters on it, i know you can because i looked into it and watched the Corp Video on it. Anyway you can filter out websites such as VBulliten Board that have been comming up on the adverts, You can set filters to stop it doing that so your competition isnt shown on your site. Anway just thourght you might want to try it RE: Sponsored Links on the forums by Guido on 05-01-2004 at 10:41 PM Yeah, Vbull. appears constantly. Also we.b hos.ting ads which do not exactly benefit Avid RE: Sponsored Links on the forums by KeyStorm on 05-02-2004 at 03:17 PM Well, instead of telling members to questions they post, we can send them to the bottom of the page RE: Sponsored Links on the forums by fluffy_lobster on 05-02-2004 at 06:39 PM Hmm, just noticed... however well you phrased this thread you've broken the TOS by putting "Sponsored Links" above the banner RE: Sponsored Links on the forums by kittyangel on 05-03-2004 at 12:47 AM Alright, I just notice the Google Ads. I will do my best to help. RE: Sponsored Links on the forums by leito on 05-03-2004 at 01:42 AM If we click a banner like.... one time every day, you get more money?
