(/showthread.php?tid=24584) Quick Edit? by GiantSpider on 05-01-2004 at 12:59 PM Scene as tough the reply/edit/thread page is slow in loading I was wondering if it was possible to have a quick edit like there is a quick quote and a quick reply. What do you think? RE: Quick Edit? by Johnny_Mac on 05-01-2004 at 01:12 PM Blah... so it would only show the text in the post and none of the emoticons, title and stuff? Sounds a good idea. quote:how often would you use the quick edit? i don't think that adding the quick edit it's worth it RE: Quick Edit? by Johnny_Mac on 05-01-2004 at 01:32 PM
I edit my posts all the time... and other peoples. RE: Quick Edit? by Anubis on 05-01-2004 at 01:37 PM I don't get how it could work with there being loads of posts on one page...Where would the quick edit box be on the page?... RE: Quick Edit? by Johnny_Mac on 05-01-2004 at 01:39 PM It doesnt have to be on the same page? it could be a popup, or even a new page that only displayed the text. The point in the idea is so it speeds up people editing, instead of waiting for ages for all the emoticons and stuff to load on the editpost.php page. RE: Quick Edit? by Choli on 05-01-2004 at 01:44 PM If WDZ implements it correctly, he can do the quick reply be filled with the code of the post to edit and when you press the post reply button (that would be renamed to edit) it'd edit the post. People need to stop being lazy? RE: Quick Edit? by Johnny_Mac on 05-01-2004 at 01:49 PM
quote:Do you know how long that page takes to open? It isnt slow its ridiculous. 17 seconds to edit this post. :/ RE: Quick Edit? by KnightieBoy on 05-01-2004 at 02:01 PM
well I don't mind having a quick editbox, although I wouldn't mind not having one either It's not like I have to edit in a record-speed.. It could be useful for some people, but basically, it doesn't really matter for me quote:not that long? RE: Quick Edit? by CookieRevised on 05-01-2004 at 02:35 PM It is indeed very long, especially if you cleared your cache before (and I'm on ADSL)... Another possebility is to make a checkbox in your User Control Panel to check if you want the emoticons and "richtext"-emoticons to show up or not (I never use those emoticons anyway, the most I use is the link to the smilies and I type my mybb codes myself) RE: Quick Edit? by Choli on 05-01-2004 at 03:37 PM
quote:* Choli doesn't agree. that page takes ages to load in my computer (adsl here) and also a lot of time at the uni (very high speed connection) quote:would be good RE: Quick Edit? by saralk on 05-01-2004 at 03:48 PM i think a little pop-up box with it would be cool. RE: Quick Edit? by kao on 05-01-2004 at 04:20 PM yeah the page also takes ages to load for me, it always has done, sounds like a ghood idea to me RE: Quick Edit? by GiantSpider on 05-01-2004 at 04:22 PM Wow! People actually like my idea. Well i'm on a DSL aswell and it also takes ages. Also WDZ was complaining he had nothing to do. RE: Quick Edit? by Johnny_Mac on 05-01-2004 at 04:44 PM
quote:1MB/S - 17 seconds is a lifetime. RE: Quick Edit? by lopardo on 05-01-2004 at 04:52 PM I think it would be great, but not absolutely necessary. I'm on 56K modem and it takes some time to load, especially when I'm downloading some stuff and have no bandwidth left RE: Quick Edit? by reisyboy on 05-01-2004 at 07:34 PM
Yeh i think a very basic popup with no flash extra buttons just RE: Quick Edit? by WDZ on 05-02-2004 at 04:22 AM
