You can choose to disable the toolbar, if that's what you mean. It's an option in the Tools menu.

With [img][attachment][/img] you get to see the attached file, and with [url=[attachment]][img=400x300][attachment][/img][/url] you get some nice thumbnail of a screenshot as well

That's a Messenger Plus! 3 feature, those people are beta testers of Plus! 3 and already have it. Normal people will have to wait a bit (not long anymore, but there isn't an official realease date).
