MSN Web Messenger by ShawnZ on 05-08-2004 at 07:37 PM

i was just browsing through the english language-spesific DLL for msn messenger 6.2 and found the following string:

String Table>5>1033>69,     "%1\nhas just signed in from MSN Web Messenger."

which is something to the effect of a toast reading:

Nickname
has just signed in from MSN Web Messenger

what exactly is MSN web messenger? (and no, it is not that german javascript messenger thing, that is not supported by microsoft)

Maybe that's nothing, but Microsoft added that just in case they, one day, create that MSN Web Messenger 8-)

I'd love it if they did. The rest of the web based all have problems when I use it on the school PC's. Then again, I should be doing my work (h)

in fact, if they do it, you'll have to download too... it may be your browser who downloads it for you, tho. (like java applets)

And what has this advertisement to do with Microsoft putting that string in? I would be impressed if you gave a link to the official Microsoft Web Messenger, not if you advertise for a certain webbased messenger that uses the msn protocol like there are so many...

----------------

EDIT: at the time of the toppost the Official MSN Web Messenger was a hardly known (if at all) fact, it was brand new and wasn't officially released yet. At this time, we all know the offical client can be found on: http://webmessenger.msn.com/

;)
