I dunno if this has been posted before, my search results didnt bring anythin simmiler, (or i didnt search well euf). The problem im facin is kidda big. I have Jazzloader (Multiple Messengers). Me and my sisters use three accounts. I Encrypt my chat logs. So does my sister. But i started doin' this recently, but now the problem is, i can open my sisters chat logs. ie.with my password, and no, i didnt get any msg. askin' me if i want to re-encrypt the current chat logs. RE: Major Encryption Problem. by Choli on 05-10-2004 at 11:22 AM Do your sister and you save the logs at the same folder? Do you both use the same Windows account? Do you use the same password? (this last question is kinda stupid but that may be a possibility ) RE: Major Encryption Problem. by Varish on 05-10-2004 at 11:24 AM
quote:Yes quote:Yes quote:Defenetely not RE: Major Encryption Problem. by Choli on 05-10-2004 at 11:32 AM
quote:I bet that's the problem. Try using diferent folders. one question more: Do you talk with the same contacts? or your sister's logs you can open are from contacts you don't talk with? RE: Major Encryption Problem. by Varish on 05-10-2004 at 11:34 AM
quote:Some i do, but some i dont, but this dosent matter, all her chat logs have my password now. If ur tellin me that usin the same folder created this problem, you guys might wanna have a closer look at this problem. Its not so "impossible" to open other chat logs now, is it. (and i didnt even try) RE: Major Encryption Problem. by Choli on 05-10-2004 at 12:22 PM
quote:so she can't open them with her password, right? quote:, not so quick: quote:do you have your messengers signed in at the same time? Maybe, she was signed in, and while that plus remembers her password to store conversations in her logs. now you open a new messenger and sign in, and set a password (for the same logs at the same folder), so plus remembers you password and from then, it uses that new password. Definitely, I have to test that. RE: Major Encryption Problem. by Varish on 05-10-2004 at 01:02 PM
quote: Yes. quote: Plz. do test it, but im sure its not it, cuz she never saves her password (incase of me) RE: Major Encryption Problem. by surfichris on 05-10-2004 at 01:21 PM
quote:Could that be the problem? Because Plus! doesnt open multiple instances of itself per messenger, it just hooks each copy.. but would it use the same settings? RE: Major Encryption Problem. by Choli on 05-10-2004 at 01:21 PM
quote:if the problem is what i think it is, you don't need to save your passwords so the bug appears... Don't worry, I'll test it when I arrive at home (if I don't remember to test it, please, send me a PM in 6 hours and 30 minutes, so when I read it, i'll be at home ) Edit: quote:@ surfi's quotes what "yes" are you quoting? in fact, there's only one msgplus.exe process, but it loads several, diferent copies of msgplush.dll (or what it's called), one per each instance of messenger; if i'm not wrong RE: Major Encryption Problem. by surfichris on 05-11-2004 at 05:24 AM
quote:The last one.. quote:Right, so does msgplush.dll get the settings for the account it is loaded for? Or are settings handled in msgplus.exe? RE: Major Encryption Problem. by Choli on 05-11-2004 at 07:06 AM
quote:each "copy" of msgplush.dll gets the settings for the account it's loaded for. msgplus.exe is only (mainly) running to detect when messenger is launched, load a msgplush.dll and hook messenger with it. |
