The server seems to be stable despite the high amount of people visiting the board since Plus! 3's release...I just hope the server can handle it;

Yes, its handling it quite well.

I am monitoring the forums and am ready to turn-off certain features of the forums if the load significantly increases. I will also alert Wj if this happens.

PHP 4.3.3 / Server Load 3.18 / GZip Disabled

Although 3.18 is high, the server is still running as it should be.

It'll be ok for now it doesn't seem to be that busy. Mess.be aint updated and I don't think Neowin have released any information yet. when these to release we should feel it here. I reckon tonights gonna be mayhem and I cant wait!

The server load message is expected at some times. Users are asked not to continuely post about it, or to keep refreshing the page. Give the server a minute or two to sort itself out.

Its measured in linux units! Its pretty much a measure of the amount of open processes in a given time..

I have disabled the 'Who's Online' page, which takes some load time off index.php. Currently i have hidden T&T until the load stabalises itself and is not jumping around.

I have also edited the load limit page to contain links to alternative support resources.

I've noticed the lower server load since that but I don't agree with T&T being hidden due to spamage reasons...

T&T is a reason for alot of the spam on these forums. Users continue to spam other forums because they know it will just be moved to T&T. It also influences the other users to spam in other forums.

Defaults in MyBB to only allowing Administrators. WDZ may have changed it, i'm not completely sure.

chris said he changed it. they usually do when theres an expected high load.

Can someone make a screenshot of it for me when they see it next? I havent actually previewed the implementation of it here.

Its a bit hard because I dont ever see it when I am logged in, and when I notice the load is high, its usually too late for me to logout.

The more people who can bypass it, the less useful it is.

I think that only people who have important jobs on the forum (moderating) should be able to bypass it. :dodgy:
