hello, needed some help with a problem I encountered.

I installed MSN Plus! 3, but upon doing so I could not send or receive any instant messages. The following message came up in a grey box with a little red cross:

'You were unable to start a conversation with -contact name-. You might want to try again later.'

I pressed 'Ok' and the grey box went away, but no conversation window opened. I uninstalled MSN Plus! 3, and MSN worked fine. Instant messages et al.

I then reinstalled Plus! 3 again, and the problem came back...! Help please.

You didn't happen to install the handwriting plug-in earlier, have you? This plug-in is known to cause problems like that when installed on Windows 98/ME or other versions that (sometimes) don't support it.

If you have, close down all Messenger related applications and remove the file MsnHandWriting.dll from your Messenger Plus!\Plugins directory, most likely the default C:\Program Files\Messenger Plus! 3\Plugins.
