In the new MP!3 we have the option to select and 'Send a pre-recorded message' which i find extremely useful when i have 30+ quick texts and can't remember the Alias. Well in the list we get when we click the icon on the main IM Window we get a nice list (sometimes big) of all our aliases. This is great however it can be kind of big and also hard to differ one alias from another. So... my two suggestions are:

1. To have a selected (user defined) number of shortcuts to be shown (maybe the first 10 ect) in the list.

2. To have a small textbox option in the Quick Texts preferences to be able to set a 'Name' for each quick text. (If non set then the alias by default of course)

I think #2 would be useful (to me anyway) because i have so many its hard to remember what alias does what. For example to open my pictures folder i have /pics which you see as "pics" in the list menu. This one is easier to remember then some but as an example.. if there was an option to give a name to the quick text then you could have "Open My Pictures" in the list

I like both ideas, especially number 2.

i agree you use a short word for the actaul command but a longer description would be nice.

Those are both excellent ideas and something im sure many people including myself would find very useful

Yeah, i agree.... not something that would take alot of time to do... and would be very usefulll

there isnt one bad thing that could be said about it so maybe shoould be added with next update ?

and what about displaying the comand while you are writting them?

I mean.. if you write "/" you have a list of all the commands.. then you tipe "/v" and the list changes showing all the commands that start with "/v" (such as /video, /viewlog, /voice..)

it the same that the completion stuff in IE.. I find it useful

I understand your problem. Here is what I propose: I would add a & shortcut character at the beginning of every aliases displayed in the menu. I know it's not perfect but it should help. What do you think about that?

I can't really add another box to specify a new name as it would confuse a lot of people.
