I *think* this is because "Deinstallieren" is to long, but I'm not sure.

"To Page" someone means to call them on their pager. It's a small device, pre-cellphone if you like. You can only leave very short messages or even only a number to a "pager".
The device is also sometimes called a "beeper".
Docters in hospitals very often use these things...

In Dutch the translation of "page" would be "oppiepen"...

And in Swedish we call it "sök", i.e. "suchen". But I don't know the correct German translation.

i know what a pager is. i don't know how i can use it.
i can't find this option (translation) in messenger (*not* msgplus).
how can i test it? I get the following message if i send "/page email (a) addresssss.com" -> "Couldn't page email (a) addresssss.com"

The contacts needs to have a cellphone/pager added to his profile and enabled the service. (Thos yellow icons you'll see in 6.2)

The command is the equivalent of "send a message to a contacts mobile phone" in messenger...

thanks for the info cookie - i don't have any contacts with a cellphone added to his profile so i can't test it.

~~the path to this command in your screenshot is inside the Plus! menu - does MSN Messenger has this option too? i'm searching a good translation and if Messenger provides one i will use this name...~~

Messenger uses rather long explainations:
rightclick-menu on a contact: "Send a message to a mobile device"

Or in the main menu:
Actions > "Send a message to a mobile device..."

But I'm sure there is a short German translation for it also

pagers aren't popular here - i think 99,9% of all german users wanna write a sms when they use this function

"Send SMS" is fine for me (but then again I'm not German

). But it is also more clear with "SMS" that it is to send something to a mobile device then it is with "shortmessage"....

btw: "Pager" comes from overseas I suppose, here in Europe, we are very used to sending SMS's, but it isn't as popular in The States for example. There they are still using more page-devices then actual mobile cellphones compared to here...

I'd suggest this:

instead of

It doesn't really matter for that many people or situations but it's a quite nice touch anyway.
