Dont install msn plus 3 unless you enjoy having loads of irremovable adware on your pc! . I think its a major letdown to what would have been the best msn upgrade , but now you have a new homepage that wont change and search bars on your ie, and new stuff in your favorites etc , and god knows how many other stupid bots laying around your system.! .

Suggestion: DO NOT PUT BOTS IN YOUR MSGPLUS, BECAUSE IT WOULD BE AMAZING IF IT DIDNT!

You seem to have installed the sponsor program by mistake: you selected "I ACCEPT, install the sponsor" in the installation program - most likely accidentally, without reading correctly. You can uninstall it easily by reading and following the instructions as given in http://shoutbox.menthix.net/showthread.php?tid=21598. If you follow those instructions exactly as given, you will have no more ads left, and the toolbar will be gone.
Remember that you should close as much open programs as possible, and you have to close all open browser windows in order for this to work.

The sponsor program has been added to let Patchou (the creator of the program) continue to work at Messenger Plus! daily; he has no full time job, but spends almost all his time programming Messenger Plus!. He thought this was the best way to keep the program freeware and still make a living.

The sponsor program is a package from LOP.com - and although many people know LOP.com as an agressive 'spyware' company, the package that comes bundled with Messenger Plus! is nothing like that. Basically, the main things it does is showing some ads from time to time and adding a search bar in Internet Explorer, some favourites and desktop shortcuts.

After uninstalling, please install Messenger Plus! again without the sponsor program; you will then be able to use the wonderful new functions Plus! has to offer you, without the annoyances from the sponsor program you are talking about

Thanks for the warning but unfortunately it's too late for me. Do you have a bug thing called msbb.exe ? And I know that I definately did not click I accept.

U installed the OPTIONAL sponsor (yes plus will install if u click NO).

I've removed plus and tried every possible adware/spyware remover thingy majiggy but my system is now just full of bugs and everything

mine too. i will uninstall and install again, if i do get that warning, then i am very sorry for the posts/topics, but if i dont i will do a screenshot and show you.

I aswell did NOT have an option, as i did this -:
plus! - Check for updates

it then downlaoded, and installed ITSELF! so no option for adverts or now, ive been through the registry, removed the reg keys, STILL THERE, ive used ad-aware! still there, ive used 6 flipping things to get these off, and ive finaly come to UNINStALLING THIS!

I got the warning but 100% definately pressed I refuse

You say that you've tried ad and spyware removers on the sponsor program this will have damaged the sponsor program so it can't be removed by conventional methods don't worry. Install Plus! 3 again with the sponsor program (just trust me here I know what I'm doing)...Now to uninstall it go to Add/Remove Programs in the control panel and double click on "Messenger Plus!" (or click on Remove). Then "Messenger Plus! - Setup" is displayed.
Click on the Uninstall button. after a couple of seconds, the program will ask you if you want to keep your preferences, it is suggested to say "Yes".
Then you'll be asked to type in the number displayed in the box then click Uninstall.
Now you must click Yes when asked to confirm the uninstall...If you're asked to close Internet explorer or any program do so. Now restart your computer and the sponsor program will be gone.

its just a case of being to hastie b4 u install things you shoud give it more time when u install it like read what it says so you dont fall into the trap you feel into

ash,  you accidentally installed it by mistake.  I almost did too-  cuz when I download things, I usually just breeze through clicking "yes" to everything to get on with the download (my bad habit..lol)      This time I slowed down a bit.


Deej,   During the last version, I did accidentally download the toolbar thingy .,   and Patchou's instructions worked fine to remove it.


read Sunshine's post-   that link she posted  has the full instructions.     Dont remove it yourself using AdAware, etc..   just follow Patchou's instructions given when you open that link.

People learn to read install notices, at least look at the title. Otherwise you have no idea what you are doing. Many of you don't realise how much spyware gets installed with your typical programs e.g. Go!zilla or whatever that monstrosity is called. Took me 2 hours to kill that beast of a program
