i no it must be a silly question but how do you get colour names.

In the chat window press Ctrl + K, pick any colour you like and type what you want to say 
Very Simple, and you can do multi-colours over and over as well as as Ctrl + B for bold and more..

Nah, it is simple but everyone has to find out how the first time

is it the same if you hae messenger plus 3.0 ??? because ive tried and it says " error cannot change your name "

ive tried it but it still dont work i typed in a conversation /nick then crtl + b and then ctrl + k and copyed and pasted it into my name but it didnt work. can someone show me what to type

Copying the code will not work, as the square character is considered invalid by MSN. This also means that NickEXP will not work, unless you use it with the /nick command.

Simply: open convobox
type: /nick ctrl+b ctrl+k <nick> and press enter
and voila nick is changed..no copying and pasting!
