I wasn't sure which topic to put this in as I'm not sure if it's a bug or not. I've been trying to make my own XP cd and wanted Messenger Plus! installed silently, this all worked easily enough with 2.54, but i wanted MP!3 on it now that its been released. I've used the switches /silentinstallnosponsor and /NoAdmin but i was getting an error message come up (see attached image). Through doing some tests I discovered that the reason I was getting the error messages was because I had renamed the installation file. I had "msgplus.exe /silentinstallnosponsor /NoAdmin" this produced the error message, but if I had "msgplus-300.exe /silentinstallnosponsor /NoAdmin" then it installed perfectly fine. RE: Silent install by Choli on 05-31-2004 at 12:21 PM have you tested if that happens also if you don't put the /NoAdmin option? and, are you sure both files (msgplus.exe and msgplus-300.exe) are the same? Maybe msgplus.exe was corrupted for some reason. RE: Silent install by scottisafool on 05-31-2004 at 12:29 PM When I 1st tried it, I didn't have the /NoAdmin switch in (i didnt need it with 2.54) and I got that same error message, which prompted me to search on the forums and i found the /noadmin switch, tried that and still got the message. When i tried it this morning i had downloaded a fresh file straight off the msgplus website, and tried changed the filename as mentioned and i was only getting the error message when it was missing the "-300" off the filename. |
