Russian by Dimich on 06-03-2004 at 01:32 PM

Hey, can anyone help me with russian version? Either how to get it, or how to translate!
Thanx!

RE: Russian by Choli on 06-03-2004 at 02:36 PM

To translate it, read http://www.msgplus.net/help_faq.php?expand=4#addlang , http://www.msgplus.net/help_tutorials.php?tut=newlang and http://files.msgplus.net/data/TranslationGuidelines.doc

RE: Russian by Dimich on 06-03-2004 at 03:31 PM

I'd be glad to translate, but i can't get any access to the file

RE: Russian by Choli on 06-03-2004 at 03:48 PM

here you have it. It seems that all the files under http://www.msgplus.net/data/ folder are missing. However, when Patchou fixes that, be sure you get the file from the server, just in case mine isn't updated (I don't think so, tho.)

RE: Russian by Dimich on 06-03-2004 at 05:50 PM

Can anyone help make a translation?
I can translate text, but i understand nothing in all programming stuff...:S

RE: Russian by Choli on 06-03-2004 at 07:35 PM

you don't need to be a programmer. You only have to know the features of plus. Install it and get used to it, its features, how it works, what each thing does. After that you'll be able to start a translation.

by the way, don't double post. There's an edit button.

RE: Russian by s7a5 on 06-08-2004 at 06:47 AM

prolly one day ill translate it :$

Just a note on your way if you want to translate... Choli has created a splended program for translating and somebody else has created a software to check that the & has been used correctly :D try it out - anyway those two programs are like heaven for a translator - if you cannot find the programs in this forum I am sure that Choli would like to do a little commercial for his own software and it wont take long to find the &-check-software either...

Good luck :D

 @ Kian        You can also give the link to them :P

My translator: http://shoutbox.menthix.net/showthread.php?tid=11880 (it's a sticky thread, so it's quite visible :P)

Shunter's Hotkey Checker: http://shoutbox.menthix.net/showthread.php?tid=25313 (I'd suggest to read the whole thread because there are some issues/problems with this program)

I would suggest you to create a new thread with the file included - it makes it easier for folks like Patchou to watch for updates and new translations

Actually, what's wrong with this thread???? Making multiple threads about the same thing is only confusing...

All he needs to do is to attach the file to his first post in this thread to make it perfect...
RE: Russian by Kian on 06-21-2004 at 10:28 PM

Uhhmm I (just) wanted to make it possible for folks like you to see that a new languagefile has been made.

Calm down pal

RE: Russian by CookieRevised on 06-22-2004 at 11:23 PM

I'm calm, I never was so calm... I only stated a simple question :D

though I appriciate the thought ;), personaly I like it far better if every update (of 1 language)  is kept in the same thread. Catching up on one thread (to know if there are updates) and downloading the latest attachment is way easier and faster then looking/reading in every possible thread about that language and comparing all the different attachments of every thread... if you know what I mean...

All the submissions of languagefiles I have seen has always had their own thread - a thread without any comments - just the file and if it is updated it is only because of the languagefile is

Also, all the comment lines (the lines which start with ";") can/should be deleted to save filesize...

RE: Russian by dadu on 09-27-2004 at 02:16 AM

Has corrected

RE: Russian by CookieRevised on 02-13-2005 at 02:50 AM

  1. There are still errors in the translation (eg: like "OriginalFormat" must be "Unicode", not "ANSI")

  2. When you delete comments, delete the entire line. Don't leave the empty line ;) Also, you delete only part of the comments here and there and left the textline without the commentag ";". And why are there everywere tabs behind the sectionnames?
All this has been fixed in the attached file

  3. Why 2 files? Two files will not be included in Plus! If your language needs unicode then submit the unicode file only.
All this has been fixed in the attached file

  4. Attach the correct file (read: file, not files) as an attachment to a post in this thread. Do not link to it from your site as not everyone can/will access it. (well you can provide it on your site, but if you expect anyone revising your language, etc. you need to attach it to a post in this thread; the toppost would be perfect)

  5. The "CompatibilityLevel" is set to "3096" in your file. Messenger Plus! has been updated several times since then. The current compatibilitylevel should be 3106 (and this will be updated also very soon). Old compatibilitylevel-languages will NOT work on more recent Messenger Plus! versions. So you need to update your whole translation and compare it to the latest Messenger Plus! version.

  6. In [QuickText.Defaults] Def1Text, Def2Text and Def3Text can be translated. It's only the DefXCmd-keys that may not be translated.

  7. I see that the old (bad) file (CompatibilityLevel 3094) is still available from your site. Delete it please. (You don't need to provide a translation for each new CompatibilityLevel, only for the latest)

  8. It would be nice if you visit this forum more often if you make a translation for Messenger Plus!. If not, you can't give proper support for it, in all honesty.

;)

For people who are wondering, his site about Plus!: http://mapcell.narod.ru/plus.htm

The more corrected Russian translation (compatibilitylevel 3096 (this is for Messenger Plus! 3.20.0100)!):
corrections done:
  • removed double spaces
  • removed spaces before "\n", after some "\n" and from the end of some lines
  • corrected/deleted empty lines
  • corrected some ellipsis, double points, spaces
  • added LangIdentifier=25 (=Russian)
  • added a few very important comments back into the file

In this case you should PM other Russian translation members or, if possible email them, since they might not be regular users of these forums. You can get in touch with them looking at them profiles.
