I don't have idols. I admire people who does something interesting/important or who enjoys great prestige, like distinguished scientists, big musicians, etc... and try to learn from them. However, the word idol means (for me) something like or related to adore or praise, and there's noone how I can consider he/she is my idol.

I have to say my idol is Bill gates....started out as a geeky, nerdy normal person and ended up being an even geekier and nerdier billionaire!

Well at least the money part of it...not the geeky nerdy part

i'd love to start my own computer company like bill gates, but the reason he's not my idol is simply because of his nerdy side and because lots of people don't like MS... it was proven that microsoft office contains spyware (well, logs your IP address)!

Idols are for people who cannot be themselves, as long as you have idols, you won't feel good. It's okai to look around you to the people in this world and look for things that are better than you are, because there always will be, but you should try and improve those things within yourself, if not, you will never feel comfortable with yourself.
And call me an egocentric person, I don't really care, all I know is, we all are in a way, and to be honest. It is not an insult to be called one.
