I've checked some translated webpages, and here are the (technical) errors I've found: Afrikaans seems ok Català $LANG_registryt is too long to be good. The text should be on 1 line to make the hooverbar nice-looking. $LANG_storet is too long to be good. The text should be on 1 line to make the hooverbar nice-looking. $LANG_supportmsgplus is too long to be good. The text should be on 1 line to make it nice-looking. (maybe change msgplus! to Plus!) $LANG_features7 has a bad entity-character: ".....atractiu l'&uacte;s...." Chinese Simplified seems ok Chinese Traditional seems ok Dansk $LANG_dllink2 is too long to be good. $LANG_dlmessage is too long. $LANG_registryt is too long. $LANG_size is missing. $LANG_dlbutton1 is missing. $LANG_dlbutton2 is missing. $LANG_forumt2 needs to be translated too, although it must say "English". $LANG_aboutt is maybe too long, needs to be checked after $LANG_registryt has been fixed. You need to change all the special characters to their representative entities. This means changing characters like å,ø,æ, etc. to things like é, à, ·, ø, etc. (see endnote for more info). Deutsch seems ok Español (España) $LANG_forumt1 is too long to be good. The text, together with $LANG_forumt2 should be on 1 line to make the hooverbar nice-looking. $LANG_aboutt is too long to be good. The text should be on 1 line to make it nice-looking. Español (Latino) $LANG_registryt is too long to be good. The text should be on 1 line to make the hooverbar nice-looking. $LANG_storet is too long to be good. The text should be on 1 line to make the hooverbar nice-looking. $LANG_aboutt is too long to be good. The text should be on 1 line to make it nice-looking. Français seems ok Korean $LANG_forumt2 needs to be translated too, although it must say "English". $LANG_back needs to be translated too, although it must say "English". $LANG_hide needs to be translated too, although it must say "English". There seems to be a misplaced ";" in the beginning of the page (after the body-tag). This can't be fixed by the translators, but needs to be fixed by somebody who has access to the page itself (Guido, Patchou?) Norsk (Bokmål) $LANG_dlmessage is too long. $LANG_linkst is too long. $LANG_registryt is too long. $LANG_aboutt is too long. $LANG_forumt2 needs to be translated too, although it must say "English". $LANG_back needs to be translated too, although it must say "English". You need to change all the special characters to their representative entities. This means changing characters like é,à,ú,å,ø,etc. to things like é, à, ·, ø, etc. (see endnote for more info). Português $LANG_size is too long. $LANG_forumt2 needs to be translated too, although it must say "English". You need to change all the special characters to their representative entities. This means changing characters like ç,ã,í,é,á,à,ã,etc. to things like é, à, ·, ø, etc. (see endnote for more info). Türkçe $LANG_dllink2 is too long to be good. $LANG_registryt is too long to be good. The text should be on 1 line to make the hooverbar nice-looking. $LANG_storet is too long to be good. The text should be on 1 line to make the hooverbar nice-looking. $LANG_forumt2 needs to be translated too, although it must say "English". You need to change all the special characters to their representative entities. This means changing characters like ü, ç, etc. to entities like ü, à, ·, ø, etc. (see endnote for more info). Valencià $LANG_dllink1 is too long to be good. Note about the entities: Each character with an ascii code bigger then 160 or unicode-character must be written as an entity! Characters with an ascii code between 160 and 255 can use the entity-name format and unicode characters should use an entity numeric-format. Lists of these entities can be found here: http://www.natural-innovations.com/wa/doc-charset.html http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_entitiesref.asp http://www.intuitive.com/coolweb/entities.html http://www.utoronto.ca/webdocs/HTMLdocs/NewHTML/iso_table.html http://www.zytrax.com/tech/web/entities.html The official complete list is found here: http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40/sgml/entities.html RE: [ALL TRANSLATORS] faults in current translations for website by KeyStorm on 06-13-2004 at 12:47 PM
RE: [ALL TRANSLATORS] faults in current translations for website by Apatik on 06-13-2004 at 01:29 PM er.. I can't find the special characters not changed to their representative entities Even the apostrophe " ' " (' , not changed in my translation) is not on the official list.. And I don't think it's very useful to change it, but if i have to.. RE: [ALL TRANSLATORS] faults in current translations for website by user17033 on 06-13-2004 at 01:33 PM
quote: I don't find ANY not changed special character (and i used 3 editors for the search). Please give me a line number... RE: [ALL TRANSLATORS] faults in current translations for website by Choli on 06-13-2004 at 01:59 PM
thanks cookie quote:well, we put that because $LANG_forumt1 does fit in 1 line we'll change it. quote:it's quite difficult to reduce it more quote:we only use them in comments thanks again RE: [ALL TRANSLATORS] faults in current translations for website by Tarry on 06-13-2004 at 02:01 PM
quote: Thanx Cookie, I LOVE you! RE: [ALL TRANSLATORS] faults in current translations for website by CookieRevised on 06-13-2004 at 02:45 PM
quote: quote: quote:My mistake, sorry people I've made a very stupid error in my quickly-slapped together program (It used a function that converted the entities back to the characters) * CookieRevised slaps himself around from corner to corner... List is updated... quote:The apostrophe " ' " is ASCII 39, this is lower then 160. Characters below ASCII 160 don't have a entity (except a few ones), so you will not find it in the lists... The reason why those special characters need to be changed to entities is because not all browsers can read those special characters, but they can read the entities, in other words to be conform to the W3C standard... quote: That sounds better, but please don't slap yourself RE: [ALL TRANSLATORS] faults in current translations for website by Choli on 06-13-2004 at 03:03 PM

quote:Dude, if you look at the page you will see that it pushes the "Windows 98/Me/2000/XP/2003 og MSN/Windows Messenger 4.7, 5, 6 kreves." too far down. I have corrected it so its smaller, plus I replaced æ, ø, å with the æ ø and å RE: [ALL TRANSLATORS] faults in current translations for website by Chrono on 06-14-2004 at 05:16 PM
quote:thx Cookie, ill fix them now, though i dunno if i cant make $LANG_aboutt to fit in one line... lets see if my latest modification fits Edited: i used the same line that the spanish spain translation uses, just to make sure... and a note to Choli and/or Keystorm: "Cosillas oficiales"???? jajajaja RE: [ALL TRANSLATORS] faults in current translations for website by Choli on 06-14-2004 at 05:53 PM

quote:Blah, it IS material oficial... i wont change it Cosillas is way too dodgy RE: [ALL TRANSLATORS] faults in current translations for website by jOWE on 06-15-2004 at 08:25 AM
The norwegian dlmessage is reported to be too long, an error which I couldn't reproduce in IE6. RE: [ALL TRANSLATORS] faults in current translations for website by NeoRevan on 06-15-2004 at 12:17 PM
Just to comment: It works fine in IE, so it is a problem existing in firefox. RE: [ALL TRANSLATORS] faults in current translations for website by Choli on 06-15-2004 at 12:41 PM
quote:because when WDZ received the list of translators he didn't know the complete correspondence between the names and addresses in that list with the names and addresses of members of the forum. do you want it? ask WDZ RE: [ALL TRANSLATORS] faults in current translations for website by NeoRevan on 06-15-2004 at 07:20 PM
quote: That sentence right there confused the fook outta me XD And my english teacher whines about my long sentences But I understood that Im supposed to PM WDZ, which is what Im gonna do (provided this shit myBB somehow found a way to handle having more than 1 user online simultaneously....) quote:WDZ received a list of the translators. He got a list of their real names. He did not know what the forum names of the translators were. So he couldn't add the stickers. RE: [ALL TRANSLATORS] faults in current translations for website by NeoRevan on 06-15-2004 at 08:06 PM
