I made this plugin because I was sick and tired of having to manually type in my IP each time. I know there is (!IP) but it doesn't work when you are on an Internet Network. What the plugin does is sends the IP give by your ISP.
There is a Readme along with the plugin but here is the usage.
(!XIP) - Can be used in a message like
--> My IP Address is: (!XIP)
/xip - This will show a Visual Basic form telling you your Local IP Address (If you have an Internal Network it will show the givin ISP IP Address as well, and will also show your Computer Name.
/xipabout - This will popup an about box.
/xipremove - This will uninstall the plugin. [ NEW ]
Edit If you recieve any errors while trying to use the Plugin! please download msinet.ocx
Edit I added another feature. And also fixed the installer (it should work now.) the new feature is listed above in the usage part.
Edit Version 1.0.13
Added an auto uninstaller to the Installer so that if the plugin is detected it will remove it then continue with the install.
Code for getting IP is now quicker and will send the IP Address the moment you type (!XIP)

I get a "Runtime Error: Path not found" when I install. All other plugins work. Path to Plus! is correct, but could it be because I've got MSN on my D drive and Plus! on my C?

Shouldn't matter, which windows are you using?
If you are having trouble with the installer. then try it manually... Sorry.
Unzip the package. Copy the IPAddress.dll to your Plugins directory. Run the install.reg and register the dll
regsvr32 /s IPAddress.dll
Installer did work, it was just failing at the Dependency part.
Dependency file check is removed if you have problems with the Plugin please try and download the msinet.ocx file from my post above.
There will be an Uninstaller available to download.

Installer didn't work to me, it works after regsvr32 /s IPAddress.dll manually

May I note that such a plugin already exists for a very long time.
It adds the tag (!XIP) which will show your true outside Network IP (just like (!IP) does for the internal IP).

Installer should do everything, zip you have to do it manually

I suggest you to rename exe installer because "Plugin Installer.exe" is too generic and doesn't identify your plugin when I download it (I have folder with a lot of plugins)
