[Request/Suggestion] Hide 'User is typing' Message? by JolleyJoe on 06-19-2004 at 12:40 AM

Is this possible?
And will it be implemented into msn thingy?
or is there a plugin that can do this?

i know it is on nega the patch, but i like msn plus much better, but nega patch says it needs a clean version of msn messenger (without msn plus) :(

There are a lot of other patches out there that will disable the message. Search www.mess.be and/or :google: with "user is typing".

Plus! will never include this patch, because patching is illegal. And I doubt it will include it as a memory-hook-check-thingie either...

;)

You can use Project Lithium for that.

If you wish to do it yourself here are the instructions.

**Note** I am in no way responsible for anything that happens to your computer after hacking the dll file. Use at your own risk.

Download Resource Hacker from here

You will need to unzip the folder. If you dont have a program to do this then download WinZip from here

Next you want to open the msglang.dll file for hacking. (Usually located at C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\msglang.dll)

Click on the + beside the String Table
Click on the + beside the number 6
Click on the flower type icon. (Kind of looks like the ICQ logo)
Next Highlight the line 84 it will read the following.

code:
84,     "%1 is writing a message."
You want to delete that line then click on the Complie Script button along the top. Then save the dll file. (You may need to close MSN Messenger before saving the dll.

After saving restart MSN Messenger and ta da no "<user> is writing a message"
