Does anyone know of/could anyone create a G-Mail notifier?

Something that notifies you when you get a new email in your gmail account. Like the toast that comes up in Messenger when you get an email through hotmail.

It would be real handy, and would save randomly logging in to check your emails...

Anyone?

lol...gmail dont have pop3, so i doubt there is any way of checking....we dont know nothing till we know more

well there is a program that makes Outlook and thunderbird think gmail is pop3.. so gmail can be used in them... so why not a notifier?

Yup, i've been using it for a while and i find it very helpful.

I'm looking into making my own version, to suit my tastes more but i havent got around to it yet.

The only problem I see in GTray is that it only loads in IE.

Can anyone make a Firefox version?

I am looking for the same... I love using Gmail, but it's kind of annoying having to check back randomly to see if you got new mail...

well i use pop goes the gmail and it is a notifier
u get a box and it says u have 1 new email
i use this setup where i have it as a POP3 email on plus! then so i get another popup which when clicked on opens gmail.google.com so i can sign in

I use Gtray now an noticed something dodgy.....when u click on a link in the msgplus tab on msn whilst its checkin for mail...it opens it twice (the url u clicked not Gmail) ....any programmers dare lookin into that?

Noticed something else too: this prog changes ur default e-mailprogram
A choice to use the default browser would also be nice. Mhmm, i think i should e-mail the author

Gmail Notifier Google Approved.

Me and Dempsey are working on a plugin that shows a toast. Its bassiclly all done except we are still working on how to read the gmail page to get the email.

Yea, got the login working now, but having some probelms reading the current email count.

I think i'll try and contact the makers of GTray etc and ask fro some help

anyone got the new official Gmail notification tray thingy, its quite good

so is ne thing being done on the plugin that dempsey and noname were working on?

is it possible to make this plugin working with hotmail and msn mail accounts too?

A potentially VERY good program is GMailer XP. But it is still in Alpha phase so I don't know if it's stable enough.
