im thinking about starting my own forum and im not sure what software to use. could you tell me what you think is best and whyy?
example: mybb, ipb, etc

Easy to use, install, and its very popular so many can help you out, and theirs many hacks and skins you can get for it. And its easy to customize.

I like invision, it is very nice. Sometimes looks a little too playschool'ish though. Thats the default look anyway. It does have a few n00b features which take up space too.
I give is 8.5/10.

I've tried Invision and MyBB and I prefer MyBB.

i have used php invision mybb and i would say mybb is by far the best

mybb also
ipb gets close but it does things in a very illogical way. mybb is very well structured, and most of the bugs that used to let it down are gone. depends what ya need though
