Okay, foget the stupid emoticon stealers, TOO MUCH SPACE WASTED, on some thing that you can do your self. RE: Heres how to steal peoples emoticons/smileys :D by KeyStorm on 07-08-2004 at 12:49 PM
Thanks to OLE, btw. But anyway, too much work. Grab a CEDP-stealer and you're done. You also get them in the right format and not Paintized background-messed BMP's or JPG's (don't try to export GIF with Paint). RE: Heres how to steal peoples emoticons/smileys :D by BiZaRrE on 07-08-2004 at 01:32 PM hahaha, yeah i agree with keystorm, too much trouble to go through, it's much faster and much easier with a CE/DP stealer RE: Heres how to steal peoples emoticons/smileys :D by lopardo on 07-08-2004 at 05:39 PM It's easier with StuffPlug RE: Heres how to steal peoples emoticons/smileys :D by CookieRevised on 07-08-2004 at 06:39 PM
In fact you don't need any program to "steal" DP's and CE's; you don't need an external DP/CE Stealer, nor a plugin...... It is only a matter of copying some cached files like you would copy any file.... RE: Heres how to steal peoples emoticons/smileys :D by shockingu on 07-09-2004 at 05:03 PM
Iforgot about the stuffplug, i formated comp and i forgot to indstall, thanks for telling me this also i said this because of a DP and CE stealer, that had a trogen horse in it. so i thought that people would use this information. quote:Yes, but it's nice to have a GUI to do this (yeah, I'm a bit lazy ) RE: Heres how to steal peoples emoticons/smileys :D by weirdal27 on 07-10-2004 at 05:06 AM the problem is that paint cant handle transparent backgrounds RE: Heres how to steal peoples emoticons/smileys :D by WDZ on 07-10-2004 at 05:45 AM
Hmm... I think the tip is useful for people who occasionally want to copy an emoticon but don't want to install some dodgy stealer program (me ). RE: Heres how to steal peoples emoticons/smileys :D by CookieRevised on 07-10-2004 at 02:01 PM
quote:From the moment you copy/drag/whatever it to Wordpad/Word/whatever it will loose the transparency anyway because it isn't copied as a alpha-blended PNG, but is treated as a solid meta-object.... hence I'm not for this method and prefer to directly copy the PNG file from my temporary files... printscreen photoshop paste saveforweb done... RE: Heres how to steal peoples emoticons/smileys :D by CookieRevised on 07-10-2004 at 10:01 PM
quote:tbh, you never can get the original alpha-blending, unless you compare your trials with the original again and again until you have the right opacity for each pixel...and 255(?) possible opacities x 19 x 19 x the time you take to compare = VERY LONG.... So, again, nice trick, but it wont let you get the original with the original transparency... (Is it that difficult to copy a file from a directory? lol) RE: Heres how to steal peoples emoticons/smileys :D by WDZ on 07-11-2004 at 02:38 AM
quote:* WDZ dunno... Are they stored in %appdata%\Microsoft\MSN Messenger\xxxxxxxxxx\CustomEmoticons? That folder is empty right now, so I can't be sure... What format are they in? blahhh.dat like the other stuff? How do you identify which file you want? RE: Heres how to steal peoples emoticons/smileys :D by kao on 07-11-2004 at 03:09 AM

quote: I personally don't mind if the transparency doesn't match exactly 100 percent with the original one... it's good enough when the background is shown properly along with smooth edges of the emoticon... |
