does any one have SP2 installed and style XP ??? RE: SP2 & style XP by |Rolando| on 07-16-2004 at 11:05 PM I think you'll have to reinstall your windows... but if you want to use visual styles with SP2 use the SP2 UXTheme DLL Patcher RE: SP2 & style XP by toddy on 07-19-2004 at 10:17 PM

RE: SP2 & style XP by Kryptonate on 07-19-2004 at 10:30 PM insert the xp installation disk in your disk drive and choose Repair instead of Install RE: SP2 & style XP by toddy on 07-19-2004 at 10:31 PM repair didn't work RE: SP2 & style XP by toddy on 07-20-2004 at 12:02 AM how do i uninstall the older version ? quote: Have you got a Program like partition Magic? i assume you wanna delete the older WindowsXP install yeah? im pretty sure partition Magic or some similiar program will remove the older windowsXP partition RE: SP2 & style XP by toddy on 07-20-2004 at 01:02 AM no it doesn't seem to, well i couldn't see anyway to do it RE: SP2 & style XP by illuzn on 07-20-2004 at 01:49 AM I believe that its caused by the new function in windows... instead of that system file restore thingo.. which used to ask you to insert the windows cd when a core file was changed (uxtheme.dll) it now simply puts the original file back without any prompts or cues... i had problems trying to install the old uxtheme.dll patch because it kept replacing the original.. so i guess the problem is stylexp loads up expecting a hacked uxtheme.dll when it doesn't it crashes the computer and reboots it.... the only thing to do is to replace the uxtheme.dll with a patched one... this should fix the dramas hopefully... rolandos website has the hacked uxtheme.dll if you can't find it |
