According to a couple of Mac related websites, and from what we can see from this cover picture hosted in MSNBC.com, iPods generation 4 will be announced tomorrow (or at least in a week or so):

Note that the leaked images are from msnbc.com, kinda reliable source, and belong to the Newsweek magazine that will probably be out tomorrow.

We'll have to wait untill OFFICIAL info from Apple is released! All these rumour sites! I hope there is a longer battery life1

Err well, the Newsweek website with a Steve Jobs cover from "July 26th, 2004" (why the hell do they post it so in advance? :P -- someone apparently "guessed the URL") and that reads "Steve Jobs with the New iPod" (click the cover above to see the enlargement, and read the text in the bottom center) is not quite a "rumor site".

But yeah, we'll have to wait. :P

I'm saving for mine. This 4G iPod's got 12 hours battery life (instead of 6-8), and it's going to be sold $100 cheaper than current iPods. Thank god, this also means 3G iPods will vastly drop in price! I'm saving for a 4G and by the time I've saved enough, it should be out in stores!

that's pretty cool, yeah i'm saving up for one as well.  atm i want a 20 gig plus maybe a few extra things, such as the travel kit or extra batt. pack.

20gb = $299

40gb = $399

$100 cheaper than previous models. 15gb has been discontinued..

Its a shame that they keep discontinuing the lower models...first the 10gb and now the 15gb...It was because of this I bought a Thomson Lyra 20gb MP3 player...it may not be as streamlined and nice as the iPOD but it sure kicks ass with price and storage...
This new iPOD sure looks nice, although eye candy is irrelevant...
Unfortunately the price seems to become higher when it hits the UK shelves...

i think i decided i dont want one anymore they only come wif a max of 15GB my ipod is 40GB and almost full. also they are plastic, not chromed.

They look fake :dodgy:. I mean, not fake as in "the product won't be like that", but fake as in "those are not pics, those are photoshop drawings". Surprising as well that the gallery is just a rework of the old pics, and they didn't put a dark picture.

Anyway, looks nice. And cheaper. I might get one in a couple of years :P
