(/showthread.php?tid=29317) I still can't get rid of this toolbar! by killthebluetoolbar on 07-30-2004 at 11:45 PM Today, I honestly went through the stupid tutorial at least 5 times. Installing and checking off, then uninstalling, rebooting, repeating. Plus isn't even installed, I'm still stuck with this stupid toolbar! And harmless my butt, it sends me popups despite my blocker and changes my opening explorer page. I've even made an account for this forum as a last resort. Can someone PLEASE help me get rid of this thing?! RE: I still can't get rid of this toolbar! by wj on 07-30-2004 at 11:48 PM
Are you sure it's the toolbar installed by the messenger plus sponsor program? RE: I still can't get rid of this toolbar! by RebelSean on 07-30-2004 at 11:50 PM
If this is the toolbar from Messenger Plus!, then try and use this RE: I still can't get rid of this toolbar! by killthebluetoolbar on 07-30-2004 at 11:50 PM
It's blue and it's a search bar. Is that it? I tried the lop.com uninstaller.. doesn't work. It looks like this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v362/tkalamity/bluetoolbar.jpg My friend said it was from Plus. I didn't get it until I downloaded Plus, so I don't know. You tell me. mod: Please use the edit button. Double/triple posting is not allowed on these forums. RE: I still can't get rid of this toolbar! by lopardo on 07-31-2004 at 12:52 AM

I'm sorry to bother everyone again.. but. RE: I still can't get rid of this toolbar! by Anubis on 07-31-2004 at 04:37 PM
The makers of the toolbar are currently updating the toolbar, to make it a lot more useful, it may be temporarily unstable...Blade reported similar problems... quote:I'm not sure if that's a good idea; in the past adware removers have screwed up the toolbar and made it harder to remove... Btw, that was taken before it advanced and said I can't delete it. RE: I still can't get rid of this toolbar! by BillDozer on 07-31-2004 at 06:21 PM
The Problem is most likely the name. I've tangled with this bad boy myself lol. Its real name is My Search. The only ways to deleted it completly are either go to your control panel and deleteing it form there (if its even listed), goign into your program files in your C:// drive it should come with an uninstaller. But if all else fails. reboot your comp in VGA or Safe mode and search for files with the name My Search and then clean up your registry. I'll try it. RE: I still can't get rid of this toolbar! by BillDozer on 07-31-2004 at 06:40 PM
did u clean up your registry after wards? cuz some programs have a set up registry that links to the program reinstalling the components. RE: I still can't get rid of this toolbar! by Dane on 07-31-2004 at 09:08 PM Also note that there is currently a possible issue where the sponsor is "agressive" and reinstalls itself. Hasnt been confirmed nor denied yet. RE: I still can't get rid of this toolbar! by lopardo on 07-31-2004 at 10:50 PM Also try BHODemon and check what programs are starting with Windows using Autoruns. |
