The money for the car is in an investment and it takes 3 days to get out, so we requested $3800 (we need to register it, get insurance, and pay the PST) but the stupid person over where we invest gave us $3500 RE: My new car! And when you see one of your friends at night, drive past him, then wip the car around, turn the red light on, and then put them on the spotlight. You'll scare the shit out of them. RE: My new car! quote: LoL, owning a car @ age 15 sounds completely absurd to me as a Dane... For one thing, you have to be 18 to obtain a license in Denmark. For the other, cars are generally speaking 3 times as expensive in Denmark as in the US, so parents don't go about buying cars for their kids like in the US & Canada. Then ther's the expensive gas, insurance and plenty of other fees. I don't even think most people here get cars until they've completed their educations and gotten full-time jobs. Anyway congrats with the car, although I'd much prefer something with manual transmission instead of auto. I mean seriously - what's fun about driving a car that practically drives itself? I'm envious of the Americans, they get their cars so early, we're not even allowed to own a car until we're 17, and then we have to get lessons for ages, then we take Hazard Perception and Theory and then we have to pay for our main driving test, by the time we've finished, we're 18 and have no money left to pay for university, unless of course you're lucky and get a grant. RE: My new car! (Now with pic.s!) by Johnny_Mac on 08-30-2004 at 01:08 PM
quote:Personally, I'd rather have it our way then the american way. Automatics? No real driving exam... just a muck about then a test to say your alright. Here it is really strict, but makes some damn good drivers. I posted a whole thing about our system in a discussion with sock in T&T, but it was pruned. quote:I have one of those, and its simply on cost. Its probably one of the most efficent cars to have atm, I learnt that on a recent trip when I got twice as many miles to a gallon then a friend got. quote:This is true, I have a friend who has written off 3 cars, and has only been driving a year. There insurance is exactly the same as mine, now how is that fair? [/rant] RE: My new car! (Now with pic.s!) by user27089 on 08-30-2004 at 01:12 PM
quote: The ford fiesta is the most economic car in the world, therefore this is what I want, its quite cheap, runs well, does a lot of miles to the gallon, cheap to buy, cheap to fix, cheap to insure. quote:thats not fair at all, he should have to pay more insurance, I also think its sexist to men, because they have an insurance company just for woman! How bad is that, they may be good drivers, but we don't get priviledges, we don't get our own car insurance for men, even if we did, the company would be sued for being sexist. quote:Where?! Here, you have to be 16 to even get a moped license (18 to get a driver's lisence). Seems kinda irresponsible to have 14 year olds driving around on public streets... RE: My new car! (Now with pic.s!) by RebelSean on 08-30-2004 at 10:21 PM Hmm, you can get your motercycle/moped liscence wehen youre like 15 here and you get your learners permit at 15 and at 16 you can drive with 2 people and have your license, our systm owns. |
