Ok, here's the deal, I'm 15 and I now own a car (my mom will use it too...) :banana: ...well at least I will on Wednesday of next week :bananaxmas:

It's a 1996 Chevy Cavalier in AWESOME shape (Teal...I'll re-paint it at some point).
Interior is very clean and in good shape.
4 cylinder
2.2L engine (I believe)
Comfortable seats
Aprox. 120 hp (not sure the exact torque)
Quiet
Aprox. 30 mpg.
A/C :banana: (I live in a desert climate...)
Automatic transmission.
HUGE trunk
Airbags
Nice, Clean engine kept in VERY good shape (was used to go to and from work.)
$3500 Canadian (My mom paid, but I have to pay her back in payments every month )
The insurance is very cheap too (~$89/mnth Canadian)

What do you guys think? Did I get a good deal?

I'll post some pictures of the actual car when I get the car on Wednesday.
It looks similar to this one, but is a different colour (you know what TEAL is )

Nice car! I can't wait till next year so I can drive mine..(Yes I have one, its a dodge neon, i'm still workin on my system in it and workin on savin up money for rims,tinted windows ect..But I already picked out my system for it) Dude, get a nice system, tinted windows and all that good stuff..

Depends on the spoiler, and I found a body kit that modifies the shape, it looks awesome on the cavalier :banana:

Why bother with a little 4 banger? I've got a 1995 Ford Crown Victoria P71.

4.6L SOHC V8 w/Posi rear wheel drive

It may be because it has enough power for me FOR NOW and that I would rather not spend my entire paycheck on gas...

Trust me, this little piece MOVES! I mean it has a lot of power because, for one thing, it's light.

It's in REALLY good shape and I got a good price.

at 16 you can get your L's
at 17 then you get your red P's (if you pass of course)
then at llike 18 or sumthing u get your greens
then you get your license at 21
This is all assuming you get them straight away
and i'm not sure which order the colour of P's are in
maybe some one else can clear that up lol

LOL! You have to wait like 5 years to get ur full?

Well it works here:
16 - [L] (Learner's Permit): Can't drive without someone with their full license with you
17 (if you pass) - [N] Can only drive with one passenger unless someone with their full license is with you
18 (if you pass) - Full, un-restriced license

You have to post the [L] and [N] in your back window :dodgy:

Its actually a real nice car, I love chevrolet's, the corvette is my favourite, I want one when i'm older.

but we're having a few problems. The money for the car is in an investment and it takes 3 days to get out, so we requested $3800 (we need to register it, get insurance, and pay the PST) but the stupid person over where we invest gave us $3500 :dodgy:

I don't have a car yet, we have to be 17 to have a car over he, and 17 to learn completely, thats your dads car, thats really nice, my parents have got a Daewoo Nubera, but its got a toyota mr2 engine, so its very fast. My mum went 115mp/h by accident, its an easy mistake, the car wasn't even struggling like a normal salloon would!

LoL, owning a car @ age 15 sounds completely absurd to me as a Dane... For one thing, you have to be 18 to obtain a license in Denmark. For the other, cars are generally speaking 3 times as expensive in Denmark as in the US, so parents don't go about buying cars for their kids like in the US & Canada.

Then ther's the expensive gas, insurance and plenty of other fees. I don't even think most people here get cars until they've completed their educations and gotten full-time jobs.

Anyway congrats with the car, although I'd much prefer something with manual transmission instead of auto.

I mean seriously - what's fun about driving a car that practically drives itself? :^)

I'm envious of the Americans, they get their cars so early, we're not even allowed to own a car until we're 17, and then we have to get lessons for ages, then we take Hazard Perception and Theory and then we have to pay for our main driving test, by the time we've finished, we're 18 and have no money left to pay for university, unless of course you're lucky and get a grant.

When I get my first car, I just want a hatchback, learn to drive, its not important what it looks like at the start, its just the performance I worry about. I think ther are more important things in life than doing up your car, so i'm going to buy it, then i'm going to save my money, but still get things that I need, not go skint just to buy a body kit for my car, be smart with your money, don't waste it straight away, what if you crash your car, how much time and money has gone down the drain.

Personally, I'd rather have it our way then the american way. Automatics? No real driving exam... just a muck about then a test to say your alright. Here it is really strict, but makes some damn good drivers. (Y)

thats not fair at all, he should have to pay more insurance, I also think its sexist to men, because they have an insurance company just for woman! Here, you have to be 16 to even get a moped license (18 to get a driver's lisence). Seems kinda irresponsible to have 14 year olds driving around on public streets... ^o)

Hmm, you can get your motercycle/moped liscence wehen youre like 15 here and you get your learners permit at 15 and at 16 you can drive with 2 people and have your license, our systm owns.
