Hi,

When I resize the MSN Messenger window, the banner (disabled normaly) shows up a little instant. It also happens when I am in msgplus option menu.

Windows XP Pro SP1 French
Windows Version : Windows XP, 5.01.2600
Messenger Version : 6.2.0137
Messenger Plus! Version : 3.01.0094

Sorry for that glitch, it seems that some people using the latest MSN 6.2 version experience that. As I don't, I can't correct it (at least for now).

For now u can use a patch to hide the adbanner download the adremovalpatch (for 6.2.0137) here: http://members.lycos.nl/livetab/patch/

Yeh I'm getting the same sort of thing, the ad keeps shining through and doesnt go until I click the "I want to..." menu, and then it comes back a few minutes later. I will use a patch for now though .

It's strange though, because it only started happening yesterday and didn't before then. The only thing I have installed since it didn't happen was the latest version of Stuffplug-NG + all the plugins it recommends installing with it (colournick etc.). Maybe it is something to do with them?

Windows Version: Windows XP, 5.01.2600 (Professional Edition)

its definatly something m$ have done as it happned to me 2 and a mate of mine who isnt even using stuffplug so im pretty sure its not that!

Same thing happened to me, until Patchou sorts it out, just download a Advert Removal Patch like Sunshine suggests, that works ;-)

Getting the same thing - will try the patch.

I don't know if it's a coincidence (I think it probably is) but it happened to me just after I installed XP SP2 (both at work and at home). I noticed that when I installed XP SP2 it did something that looked like installing MSN (again) and at work it caused Plus! to pop up the "i'm broken, what do you want to do" type dialogue.

its not sp2 as im running win 2000 sp4 on my laptop and have the same problem

Patchou has fixed this bug in version 3.10 which will be released at the begin of september. So if you don't want to use the patch or it doesn't work then wait until the new Plus!.

I also experienced this situation, which btw is frustrating, irritating, and of course, annoying; so I used the patch and it actually worked, thanks Sunshine!

And Timor, first you have to quit MSN Messenger in order to apply the patch. If MSN Messenger is still running (or visible on your taskbar) it means it's locked because it is in use.

If that doesn't work, try to verify the path for MSN Messenger.

Hope you can fix it...

I solved the problem by blocking the IP-range from 207.68.178.239 to 207.68.207.255 (rad.msn.com) and 208.173.208.153 (global.msads.net)

It just started happening yesterday on my sisters comp (Win98SE 'cause of 100MHz CPU), and today on mine (WinXP SP1). And yeh, it must be some change m$ brought up...

But hey, since wer'e like the 28th of August and since Messenger Plus 3.10 is announced for the begin of september, I guess I can live with it for some days

since this month I also seem to have the Banners back from Dutch companies

any ideas how to solve it???
Msg plus 3 remove banner doesn+t work anymore.... so it seems........

You can solve it with patches (search mess.be) tough.

I'm in Australia and i don't have this problem, isn't the advertising country related?
Maybe change your passport/hotmail country settings to Australia or sumthing until Patchou releases the new version of plus.
