changing msn icon, in system tray by stormey on 08-24-2004 at 01:00 PM
hello guys
I have a bit of a problem . I use msn secretly at work. I have
msn plus and I use the messenger lock feature a lot while Im away from my pc. What I wanted to know is that is there a way of changing the msn icon while using the messenger lock feature, a bit like when the icon changes when the boss protection feature is used. The reason is that when Im away from my pc I want the msn to be locked and the icon changed too. Ive tried using messenger lock and boss protection at the same time but that doesnt work.
I would be really grateful if anyone could help me.
thanks

yes
go to
Plus->Preferences->Privacy Protection->Boss Protection
then click where it says and browse for an icon to use

This doesn't help him at all, he is talking about messenger lock, i'm afraid there is no way to do this.

Well, the only way would be replacing the icon in msnmsgr.exe with a tool like Resource Hacker...

I was searching for something like this, for I have two things to suggest.
First, about what stormey asks, when I used W98SE, I created a 36x36 px icon the same color of that light gray of Windows (a default for some schemes, in 3D buttons, etc) --and I use password protection. Well, you know they can see you're using Plus! going ctrl+alt+tab or via task manager...
Second, I wish I could see the very icons to choose for the boss protection, not only enter a number --this way I only know what am choosing after I choose.
