No, it's not a joke... finally, it'S available... I promized it for the first week of january, well, I guess we're still in it. Current link is http://pages.infinit.net/patchou8/MP2014.exe . When you'll install it you'll see that it opens a page on my web site. It is supposed to contain some information for first time users. However, my web site is currently down so it will display an error 404. Don't worry about that.

Hope you'll all tell me what you think about it! there's not suppsoed to be any major bug (for example, Messenger is not suppsoed to crash for any reason) but if you find one, be sure you report it on this forum. I have 'till friday to correct it and release an update.

I hope the alpha testers will help those won't don't understand some of the features. Everything has been designed to be accessible by everyone but well, you never know.... some features are "hidden" (meaning they can be set only by knowing the proper registry value to add). All be documented on my web site, again, when it will be back online. In the meatime, I guess I'll post some information on the forum from time to time.

First tip: try to use the (!P) tag in your Quick Texts... it allows you to use parameters... like "Hello (!P)".

Wow great stuff!  Well worth the wait!

One thing I noticed (although I don't know if its a bug...)

I installed 5.0 on my Windows XP SP1 box (after 'uninstalling' 4.7 though A/RP), then installed Messenger Plus!.  When MP2 restarted Messenger, it restarted the dormant 4.7, not 5.0, which was running during installation.

Not a biggie, I was able to stop 4.7 and restart 5.0 manually, of course.  Just thought you'd like to know...

Works perfect with my 4.6 version! I didnt have MPlus1 installed on it though so maybe those that it wont work for should try making msn fresh by uninstalling MPlus1 and maybe reinstalling Messenger too

never midn that i got it working with msn 5 some how =D the only thing is when i have the event log window open when i close it it sometimes leaves black areas on my messenger and i have to click them for them to go away

I have Enable Multi-format IRC style shortcuts turned on.

A 'bug' -> I'm using msn 5.0, but Windows Messenger 4.7 is still installed next to it -> It isn't uninstallable, my WinXp will start screaming when I uninstall it... but however, when installing MP2, mp2 closes down my msn5.0.... and the 'restart' to my Windows Messenger 4.7! "No big problem' you'd say... if it wasn't so that Wndows Messenger 4.7 locks up at my pc when tryin to log in

So mp2 díd lock up my pc after installing

Maybe an idea to let MP2 check wích messenger is running, and thén restart thát version of msn?

I get these emails all the time, it's very annoying. Most of them are supposedly for screensavers (Trying to fool people with ".scr" and "screensaver"). I've blocked about 11 or 12 email addresses and I only get a few now. Around 3 per week. Damn viruses...

You deserve a break now patchou.

I like the boss protection icon changer, it would be extreamly good  for something at  at school you can just select the windows update icon, and if someone walked past they would just think the computer had automactic windows update enabled.

And i like the POP mail feature, it is handy as i use my hotmail just for msn, and my other email from my isp.

What I miss r 2 things:

1. Log on with a different status (i.e. offline)

2. Hide the "/me is typing.." message to the other person.

I saw these features in the dMSN messenger.. but I hate that one I wanna use MSN Plus 2!!!

Also it would be a cool extra that MSN Plus 2 users could use some more emoticons...

But I'm very happy with this beta.. !!!!
