looks nice! But I thought nobody was interested interested in this ? RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by matty on 09-11-2004 at 03:59 PM Accordingly to the poll I had 14 were and 8 weren't RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by RebelSean on 09-11-2004 at 04:04 PM Looks like a awesome plugin. I will use it . Can't wait til tis released. Good job matty . RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by Choli on 09-11-2004 at 06:32 PM Nice screen shots RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by dotNorma on 09-11-2004 at 07:02 PM Also , Make like a form online to input the computers Email and Password to shutdown the computer. That way the computer you want to shut down the other computer from doesnt have to have that plugin RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by BEWARE^^ on 09-11-2004 at 07:39 PM
quote: i think that isnt a good idea coz when you have someones hotmail and pass you vcould shut doen his/her comp anytime you want and thats not tolerated and then your abusing the plugin too RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by Millenium_edition on 09-11-2004 at 07:42 PM
quote:isn't that fscking obvious? that's the whole point of the plugin. RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by BEWARE^^ on 09-11-2004 at 10:33 PM
i was trying to tell that you can shutdown someone elses comp and thats abusing the script and not tolerated get it M_E RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by CookieRevised on 09-12-2004 at 04:35 PM
BEWARE^^, What M_E meant is that this is just the same as the plugin does.... only you don't use MSN Messenger to invoke the shutdown, but an online form... So there is no point in your remark when you say it's abusing.... Because it is exactly the same as using the plugin itself.... RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by OfF3nSiV3 on 09-12-2004 at 11:49 PM hum..where can i download? RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by CookieRevised on 09-13-2004 at 12:11 AM
quote:Read the very first post: quote: RE: RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by OfF3nSiV3 on 09-13-2004 at 12:24 AM
quote: hum i thought he had to finish the installer..not the plugin itself =P RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by matty on 09-13-2004 at 12:53 AM
quote:Yes I have to finish the installer, come to think about it I will do that right now. If the installation fails it will extract 4 files to C:\Shutdown Computer Plugin so that you may preform it manually. These files include the Plugin, Read Me, Batch file to register the plugin, and the registry entry needed. If installation is successful then you wont need to restart MSN afterwards. Please read this post: http://shoutbox.menthix.net/showthread.php?tid=31...d=312434#pid312434 RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by OfF3nSiV3 on 09-13-2004 at 01:18 AM
hum..the installer failed..followed readme's instructions but i can't manage to actiavte the plugin..it won't show up on MsgPlus list of plugins.. RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by matty on 09-13-2004 at 01:31 AM
quote:Resolved It was a problem with registering the file not creating it. RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by michael_m91 on 09-13-2004 at 03:53 AM
Nice Work Matty... RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by OfF3nSiV3 on 09-13-2004 at 03:21 PM
hum i tried to get this working but i guess it doesn't work on 2000 RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by matty on 09-13-2004 at 10:41 PM
quote:Sorry to say if you have programmed any plugins for plus! you know that it has to text that the plugin can identify and so what that i chose ?ż?ż? RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by riahc4 on 09-13-2004 at 10:49 PM I dont think this is a very good plugin...........it may be somehow reversed coded and used to gain the password and remotely shutdown the computer. I seriously recommend this plugin stay underground and only be given to trusted sources and those who ask for it. RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by matty on 09-13-2004 at 10:52 PM
quote:How do you know how I coded it. You have to give the password to the person before it will even attempt to shutdown. And your given the option on shutting down if the password is right. Please dont try and say that the person could get your password cause they cant, and even if they do you can deny it. Also why do you think I made an Allow list. people that are not authorized by you cannot shut down your computer. RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by riahc4 on 09-13-2004 at 11:55 PM
quote: Hey im not trying to bring down your plugin. Im just saying there are VERY skilled people on the internet and this could make a wrong turn. I like the whole idea of it but (since i think it requires both parties to have the pluging) i will not pass this around to ANYONE because of the security reasons. I just dont feel this is a very safe plugin regardless of how u coded it or all of the measures uve taken. Think of it; Windows with a BIG company such as Microsoft and it has security exploits. And this plugin with one dev doesnt?..... Im just expressing my opinion and what i feel about the plugin. So people feel free to download it whenever you want and use it with your friends. RE: RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by OfF3nSiV3 on 09-14-2004 at 12:33 AM
quote: Can't it just identify Attemping Shtudown? Without an ascii table i can't make that ? upside down..maybe u could choose something like \! =P RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by matty on 09-14-2004 at 12:37 AM I will change it then when I fix the shutdown in 2000 RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by Choli on 09-15-2004 at 07:11 PM
quote:just for that reason this plugins IS secure: Windows has about 50000000 lines of code. It is very easy that there are bugs, but this plugins has.. how many lines? I bet that no more than 5000. It's a very small piece of software, with a very clear function to perform and I know it has been very tested since its begining. So the plugins is secure. quote:żżżżżżżżżżżżżżż you don't have the right keyboard anyway, you don't have to write it. It's just an internal code that the user should not care about it RE: RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by OfF3nSiV3 on 09-15-2004 at 08:32 PM
quote: hum what i want to do, is to be able to shutdown my home computer, let's say, from a MSN from university if i want to.. so, i do need to write those things as in uni msgplus and this plugin are not available RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by Choli on 09-15-2004 at 08:51 PM
quote:ahh! I get you now . Well, the answer is yes. You'll have to write the character whose ascii code is 18 (if i'm not mistaken), the ?ż?ż? and then the message. however there are 2 problems: 1st: the character 18 is quite complex to put in a conversation window. You'll have to copy-paste it. (you can't do alt + 18) and 2nd: you need someone at home who accepts the shutdown and clicks the button. edit: can't you install plus in the uni? you can install it in noadmin mode (if you aren't an admin this will be the default mode of the installation, and it you are, you can trigger it using the /NoAdmin switch) RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by CookieRevised on 09-15-2004 at 09:00 PM
correction: quote: (only, IMHO, maybe the length of "?ż?ż?" should be changed for more easyness, to "?ż" for example...) edit: ignore all above, I didn't say this my thoughts were drifting away and I babbled random crap quote:nope... it's the opposite, the user at home can cancel it before the delay ends. (otherwise it wouldn't be much of a use for a remote plugin ) RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by Choli on 09-15-2004 at 09:39 PM
quote:I didn't meant the ż symbol, but the ascii 18, the one that is always the first in messages sent by plugins so it is recogniced at the other side. quote:ah! ok, didn't know that RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by CookieRevised on 09-15-2004 at 10:11 PM
quote:oh soz ... ... * CookieRevised slaps himself ... stupid me for overlooking that ... RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by BEWARE^^ on 09-15-2004 at 10:33 PM

quote:It was for download but there is a bug with the way it works on Windows 2000, apparently there is no Commandline shutdown so thats where I am stuck. RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by BEWARE^^ on 09-15-2004 at 11:02 PM doesnt it work on xp RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by matty on 09-15-2004 at 11:55 PM
quote:Yes it works on XP but there is a bug on 2000 that wont shutdown the computer. RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by kingboy on 09-16-2004 at 12:15 AM
Nice plugin I wouldnt use it myself, but it would come in handy sometimes. RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by matty on 09-16-2004 at 12:35 AM
In case others are insterested in the Visual Style... there isn't one. Its called a GUI. I made the interface from scratch RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by kingboy on 09-16-2004 at 12:36 AM well gj on it! looks cool RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by CookieRevised on 09-16-2004 at 08:32 AM

RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by OfF3nSiV3 on 09-20-2004 at 03:15 PM so if i install the sresource kit on my computer, the plugin will work? RE: RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by matty on 09-24-2004 at 08:17 PM
quote: Yes it will. But I added the Windows 2000 shutdown file into the installer. It checkes if the OS is 2000 if it is checks if the file exists if it doesn't it creates it then goes through the rest of the install. EDIT Please Read the following. Due to a conflict in the code with what seems to be writing passwords and Windows XP SP2 I am pulling off the installer. I will fix the code and test it on an SP2 machine and make sure it works. There will also be a much more decent installer. That will be tomorrow (if not tomorrow Tuesday). Tomorrow will be Monday September 27th RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by Duanezee on 09-26-2004 at 11:19 AM It works, it's great. So quick aswell, lol. RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by John on 09-26-2004 at 03:37 PM
this sounds like a great plugin i'd use it
etc..etc.. (im still thinking of more things at the moment ) maybe you could upgrade your plugin with these things aswell i think more people would use it RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by evr124 on 09-26-2004 at 05:16 PM
omg tis is so neat! thx RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by CookieRevised on 09-27-2004 at 04:05 AM
quote:This would be totaly out of scope of this plugin.... Remember, this is a Remote Shutdown plugin, not a control-remotely-your-PC plugin.... All the things you want are in theory possible with a plugin, but it would be far better and efficient if you just used something like RealVNC. That is exactly made for this kind of stuff... http://www.realvnc.com/ RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by John on 09-27-2004 at 10:45 AM
yeah i suppose so RE: Shutdown Computer Plugin (Screen Shots) by matty on 09-29-2004 at 04:13 AM
