i formated my compuer and now i don't have "My Computer" on my desktop

Right click "my computer" in the start menu, or where ever it might be, and "show on desktop" of if you're looking at it in the file way, right click and "send to desktop"

awesome...and if you wanted the others, because i know on some machines it has that instead of other desktop items, just right click the others and send>desktop.(i dont know why its different..when you press the computer one, they should all go" Im glad i helped you out.

The other thing you can do is Right Click your Desktop and select Properties.
Click the Desktop Tab, Then click the Customize Button at the bottom
You will be given 4 icons to show on dekstop.

You could also use the classic start menu (right click taskbar => start menu tab => classic).
