Hello everyone,

I just installed the latest Plus version.  I am having a weird problem .. when I try to unblock a group, an error msg pops out "The group name is invalid!"

I've never had such a problem before, so any idea??

I am having the exact same problem... Patchou should look into this problem.

It must be the new way of checking if the group exists. Patchou added code to check to see if you block a group with the name "A B" and also have a group named "A" that it would block the group "A" instead of group "A B"

was that english?   i'm sorry that lost me...was it an explaination of why we can't unblock a group?

According to matty, Patchou added code that will check a group name before blocking it using the Plus! block group function.

This was to ensure groups that included partial names as other ones, e.g. The family & The friends didnt conflict when using the feature.

I have no idea if thats true or not, But its what Matty. was trying to say.

I don't have this problem.. can you give me a list of your group names and the one that doesnt work? (please email it at mplus@patchou.com). Thanks.

I'm having exactaly the same problem

my goup names are usual names like:

Chat
Friends
Paintball

and so on..  I can't  block or unblock any group...

Yep, me too, and no confusing group names or anything, they do not resemble each other at all..

edit1: and i cannot block any of my groups.. (i try blocking them by right-clicking on the group and then selecting Messenger Plus! extras, and then Block contacts in group)

edit2: i can block my groups by typing /blockgrp (and then the name of the group)

i have this problem also

can someone please tell me how to use the /blockgrp shortcut please, as i would like to use it, but i dont know how to do the shortcuts... :/

You type the commands in a normal conversation window, the one you are in when talking to your contacts.

oh, i see. sorry. blocking a group whilst in a convo seems a bit odd ! o well. ta

All Plus! commands are typed into the conversation window. Generally, though, there is a menu command.

i cant seem to find a fix to this problem.  iv checked this thread and this one http://shoutbox.menthix.net/showthread.php?tid=33176 but still can't seem to find a solution.  so is this really a bug in plus or am i just too slow to find a solution that already exists somewhere on the forums?

It's really a bug in Messenger Plus!, and there is currently nothing you can do to fix this, sorry.

Patchou is aware of this bug and has fixed it, as mentioned in problem with group blocking

It is already fix in current version 3.25 ^^.
